mortalez: Yes you are right we had check lists back then they were just alot smaller, as a guy if you had a car and your own place you were in, now it is what KIND of job what KIND of job, what is yyour 401K lookin like, do you have kids from a prior relationship, my charm and tallness are not enough anymore, I have to convince them I'm not like the last 9 guys they dates, the whole take it slow thing has reared its head on many dates.

I'm not goin to give up Bud as I enjoy it now.
IMO a lot of it has to do with what we've gone thru.

I never really got the chance to ''date'' properly for a lot of reasons so for the last 3 / 4 years I
have really enjoyed it.

I still think women are a lot more fortright now, which I see as a good thing and while things
might move slowly in the gettin to know you part, in my experience they move a lot more quickly
in the physicalm part giggle

Either way, pls don't be dissallusioned.

As I said in one of your other posts I think

Faith, Hope & Love and the greatest of all is Hope

peace

Ambrose2007: First, it's nice to see you around, Mortal. You had me a bit worried there for a minute.

You're very, very wrong, in my opinion in discounting your romantic possibilities for the future. They could be vastly better than anything you've experienced thus far - but that's up to you. I don't mean to be offensive, but judging from your posts I think you're going to need a lot of therapy and self-examination to get to where you need to be to experience that kind of relationship.

I'm 55, and what I'm going through right now is VASTLY better than anything I've ever experienced. You have a lot to look forward to, my friend, if you believe in that and put in the work. The responsibility for your love life rests firmly on your broad shoulders. Stop blaming everyone else and accept that responsibility, and you'll do fine.

Jeff

If responsibility for my love life rested on my shoulders I would already be married now, but it seems that we cant choice love I have left no stone unturned in my quest.

Well, Im in my 40s now, and I have learned a lot about life.

Mainly what I want, and what I dont want.

I think each decade has its own delights in dating, but I personally would not go back. I like the age I am, and look forward to what is to come with great interest.

I picked 30+ for the simple fact, as a matter of personal experience, as I did not take relationships seriously when I as younger as much as I do now.

I am 49 and soon approaching 50 so I'm sure my check list would have changed. Yes security and love would be #1 on my list.

Since my children are grown and out on their own I do not have to deal with that.

Need to think about this one. dunno

They both have their benefits, but honestly I prefer 30+ because it's more serious and mature, and I would actually say 40+/50+ because it's much more sensual as well. The lessons are learned, and the baggage is dealt with, and now it's time for the mature relationship of two evolved people who can truly appreciate what they have together.

mortalez: I look back and dating in my youth was much better, women were nicer and more friendly and did not have a check list.
dating in my 30's is kind of a Hell, I now under stand the saying " we die at 25 and are buried at 80 "

I am enjoying my 40's but that wasn't an option, I go out with who I want to spend time with and I believe I'm a little more prudent with my time and who I spend it with. True I didn't have a checklist when I was younger but I had two older brothers and an over-protective father who tended to 'weed' them out. The 20's and 30's were fun but I'm glad they're over - I was exhausted!

That means you enjoy 30+
I chose this poll because that seems to be the point where dating changes dramatically .
