I look back and dating in my youth was much better, women were nicer and more friendly and did not have a check list. dating in my 30's is kind of a Hell, I now under stand the saying " we die at 25 and are buried at 80 "

oh ya the check lists, the trying to find the time and getting the scraps left over, the competing for attention, the baby daddy drama, the materialism , oh yah dating is much better at this age, what was I thinking.
Are you excusing such behavier? I'm not saying all women are evil, just most, and when i find a good women I will love her with all my heart.
sweetowen: I enjoy dating now. My daughter's grown... no worrying about if/when I'll marry him, have babies, etc.
I'm just out to enjoy myself now. Not looking for more than that.
And thats part of the problem, women like you are not the minority you are the majority, women who want nothing serious, women who just want to date. this is not a bash on you, I just wonder where the women are who want a serious relationship and have the time for one. women who put their SO's first in life, now that is a wonderfull dying or dead breed.

Did you ever stop and ponder the fact that extinction of a species is usually brought on by man taking for granted that it will always be there and therefore doesn´t value or appreciate it until he destroys it? Started with the buffaloe and ended with women willing to put their SO´s first in life.

Hey we all had checklists when we were datin 20 years ago or so. Also there were always scraps left over, competin for attention, baby daddy drama & materialism. I just think our checklists hav changed.
IMO all of above will always be a part of datin to a lot of people.
I enjoy datin now more than then is my point as I've more of a clue about what I want.
That´s a hard decision... it was fun when it was fresh and new... I miss being a bit vulnerable and open...
All though now, I don´t worry about will they fit in with my family, will he be a good dad, now I can just look for a companion that makes me happy, that I enjoy sharing life with.

First, it's nice to see you around, Mortal. You had me a bit worried there for a minute.
You're very, very wrong, in my opinion in discounting your romantic possibilities for the future. They could be vastly better than anything you've experienced thus far - but that's up to you. I don't mean to be offensive, but judging from your posts I think you're going to need a lot of therapy and self-examination to get to where you need to be to experience that kind of relationship.
I'm 55, and what I'm going through right now is VASTLY better than anything I've ever experienced. You have a lot to look forward to, my friend, if you believe in that and put in the work. The responsibility for your love life rests firmly on your broad shoulders. Stop blaming everyone else and accept that responsibility, and you'll do fine.
