I am thinking about making a tiki lounge in the basement. Has anyone ever been to a tiki lounge? What were some of the coolest decorations? Tell me about the exciting drinks.

FAKE PARROTS, TORCHES, DRIED AND GREEN PALM FRONDS, COCONUTS, LOTS OF WOODEN THINGS, PICTURES OF SUNSETS ON THE OCEAN, SOME REAL OR FAKE PALM TREES, A COUPLE OF SAILBOATS IN BOTTLES WOULD BE GREAT CONVERSATION PIECES, SOME CARVINGS OF SMILING FACES IN WOOD, OF COURSE LITTLE UMBRELLAS FOR THE COCKTAILS AND MARTINIS, AND WHIP CREAM FOR THE STRAWBERRY AND BANANA DAQUERIS, SOME JUICY LOOKING FRUITS IN BIG BOWLS LIKE MANGOS, KIWIS, BANANAS, AND PLUMS, CEILING FANS, SOME HIBISCUS, AND OTHER FLOWERS, AND MAYBE SOME SWEET SMELLING INCENSE STICKS BURNING. ALSO, YOU MIGHT WANT TO HAVE SOME MUSICAL INTRUMENTS ON DISPLAY LIKE A COUPLE UKULELES AND/OR BONGO DRUMS. THERE YOU GO, MOST OF THE ITEMS NECESSARY FOR A TROPICAL ISLAND LOOKING TIKI BAR/LOUNGE!!!

As stated above but assuredly a karaoke machine with lots of songs that end in 'under the sheets' in their titles!
I like the idea of drums and tiki chicks. First I would get people liquored up and then get some guys to play drums and then the tiki chicks would dance and then everyone would feel that they had seen or done something special that night. Tee-hee. I have a doumbek. Sort of a Middle Eastern hawiian theme. Tee hee!
