I usually just say, as I'm getting off the bus and they're still there, "Thank you for letting me take part in your very stimulating conversation! Don't know what I would have done without it...."

I couldn't live without mine now...but there are areas here where coverage is spotty or non-existent, too. Dead zones where I know I'm going to drop a call. However, they're small, thankfully. There are places further out in the country here, though, where there isn't coverage.
