Sommerauer71: I have lived in seven countries.

I would emigrate again.

I like being an immigrant.

I always said I would never move from Spain, I adore my life here. However, I´m starting to think that maybe I should be more flexible.

But freezing cold & snow every day! help lovely for the first week or so! .. But now! ... Cannot WAIT to get back home in that lovely warm sunshine! .. barf blues .....yay

Scubadiva: Let's say things got really crappy economically. Would you choose to leave your native country or continue to put up with the situation? If you chose to leave, on what basis would you choose a new residence? Which country would you emigrate to and why? What do you think you'd miss most?

As I'm a few days away from leaving, I've been pondering weird things like that ... and yesterday, I went out to Fridays and ate myself nearly sick with Nachos because I know I won't get any decent ones for a long time...

I can only immigrate only for two raison, to full fill an old dream to be researcher in big laboratory or be with some my love even if she is at the end of the world.

It's obvious that taste varies a LOT, so it's really just a matter of what good things we like about a place and what bad things we can put up with :-) however I was interested to see that people would move where there might be love, above anything else, which is contrary to the results of a question I asked about the willingness to relocate a while ago. wine

Well, things aren't terrible , but yeah if I could afford a solid transition, I'd leave in a heartbeat.

You showed up too early, should have come during our three weeks of summer. laugh That or travelled to the west coast, much nicer there all year round.

I'd move to another country, just not one colder than where I'm at now, or similar either. roll eyes
Language isn't that important, I can always learn another. Different cultures don't worry me either, I'm from Canada, we have every culture on the planet here already. laugh
Be nice to have someone "friendly" on the other end, although that wouldn'nt be the sole reason for moving, just an added incentive.wink
I can always find work, I have many talents and skills, so long as I'm legally able to work wherever I go. Only one country I looked at moving to said no so far, Australia.

Who knows what the future holds, if I knew, I'd be buying a lot of lottery tickets right now. laugh
