I only been here a couple months and I am already scared !! LOL but I came from the most liberal state in the union Oregn to the most conservative one Texas... no wonder I am terrified... they might find out I am here!!!!

Da10th: As much noise as the Texas governor is making about succession, I bet he is still accepting stimulus money as are Texans in general.
Hmmm.... I haven't received a single cent of "stimulus" money to date, and FEMA hasn't done a damned thing for me or anybody else in my area that I know of.
We need the United States why again? Or maybe it's the other way around and the United States needs Texas! LOL!
As far as the border problem goes, as a Native born Texan I'd like to have the damned thing landmined! We are pretty well sick to death of illegal aliens coming across our border from the south and committing crimes here (murder high among the crimes!) then fleeing back to Mexico as fast as they can... it makes us TEXAN'S damned mad! But as long as we're a State of the United States, we cannot police our southern border because it is Federal juristiction. Landmining it would go a LONG ways towards curbing illegal aliens from crossing over though!

There are issues that the people inside The Beltway should be considering if this discussion has even begun. Doesn't it seem odd that the governor of Arizona, the state which has the WORST illegal immigration saturation in the country was selected to head up Homeland Security? WHAT were they thinking?? Perhaps the Texan Republic would have more integrity of its borders than Our Country has. Have we become so PC that we're unwilling to expell the guy we brought in to cut the lawn, or the student that's overstayed their visa or the deadbeat that comes to rip off our communities for free medical care?

Why not give Texas back to the Mexicans to whom it belonged in the first place. That would make for an interesting new debate about immigration in Mexico. They might take a poor view of all these English speakers changing the character of their schools!

Good point. But as someone suggested above...maybe it could become a homeland for the gun-owners. Imagine all the guns in the US concentrated in one place...everyone would have at least 10 guns and peace would reign.

Not sure where this one is going.However if they left the Union, it would certainly make some of the "red" states opposed to Federal "interference" realise what their defence industries and big employers were selling to all that time
...think of how rich the South would be if only it didn't have to deal with the other States. Back to cotton and plantations?
