If someone contacts me who i do not know from the forums and there is no picture i don't reply.
Really valued friend i talk to on here does not have a pic, (well he used to but that was only of one eye !)
But i felt i had got to know him thro his posts.

You will see a marked difference in interest level with a picture.
People love to relate to a face, it is easier on the memory.
Even a picture of an animal or a landscape is better than nothing
at all if you really don't want to exposes yourself so to speak ... ooo errr missus.

Scammers put pictures up. Everyone that's tried to scam me has had a very nice pic....some model or movie star.

I don't communicate with people who don't have pictures up. Life is too short to worry about why they don't want their picture up and showing.

I don't care about whether or not someone has a pic on their profile, but a lot of people won't respond to anyone who doesn't.
I agree, though, that I really do like to see who I'm talking to, regardless of gender...but I don't hold a lack of pic against anyone who wants to be friends. And friends is all I'm here for at the moment.

It is the highest possibility not to get any replies bc u dont have a pic,but from the other hand if your mails apply pressure (add me,i love you) even with pic u might not get a mail back...just bc its easier on such sites to approach people doesnt mean you have to be someone else.If you like someone treat him/her the same way u would as you met in the street,thats what i think...also mass mailing to women sucks!

If I get an IM from someone with no picture I'll chat for a bit and ask why they don't have one.
If the reason isn't a good one in my mind or if their writing skills do not surpass their supposed occupation then I'll just politely say thanks but no thanks.
True it's not fair to judge, but as few have already stated it's hard to tell the real people from the scammers ... or the one's who are in a relationship but their partner "just doesn't understand" them ... or some other rot they think of
