Hi avecaimbouquet

Okay, now I know why you saw the humor at the end of my post...lol

BrunoMcMahon: I'd be interested in hearing some of those first hand experiences.

I’m also curious why you and so many others focus your attention on Judeo-Christian religions. What’s up with that? Don’t you have venom enough for Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism or other faiths

I also find it very interesting when I see statements like “They say God will give you what ever you want if you accept Jesus as the way”.

I don’t know ANY Christians that say that. The majority that I know expect life to be rough at times and not to have anything handed to them by God or anyone else. Maybe some do chant that line but I have yet to hear it from anyone I know.

Such sweeping statements about any group are more based on prejudice than fact.

I do my share of criticizing of the Judeo-Christian-Islam branch across the board. Those three religions really divide the masses and teach that their religion is supreme and should be spread around the world and be the one religion on the planet.
It was relative since you are a Christian and your statement of "what irks me" was the third time I heard that in less than 3 days...so used your religion as an example. Nothing personal, I don't think Christians are bad people or should not have faith, I just wish they would be more open minded.

Buddhism and Hinduism do share similarities with the Abraham religions, but I really have not had much reason to criticize them because of their level of understanding for others.

First hand experiences? I have not been sick in 15 years...not even a cold. When I get injured I heal fast. I've seen people go to energy healers after western medicine failed them, and they recovered and healed up pretty fast. If you want more details, just ask. I don't see the point because I sense that you will question and deny the validity of my testimonies. dunno

avecaim: All true with my experience. The problem that led to this is a long, complex history of generational poverty and ignorance. Why I am an educator. Michele Faucault had some thoughts on the system.

True and I understand. The awesome thing is that the south is changing in that area and levels of understanding...as well as America and the rest of the world.

avecaim: I was an anthropologist. See my profile from the Rg Veda -"all truth is one, the wise call it by many names"

Glad to know you are exploring. Kudos!

Yeah, I saw that when I was looking at your pic profilelaugh I have studied some Hinduism and have a cool Veda/sanskrit book by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Veda is knowledge and it makes good sense of truth. Though it does require some thinking at times...lol

I do believe that all truth is one. Problem is that the truth is divided up. I do like a lot of concepts from all religions, for they are speaking the same truth coming from the same source that is in us in our subconscious. Many different paths to the truth, but those paths are headed in the same direction of our higher selves individually and collectively.

Shall we discuss the Force? There are a lot of supernatural concepts within the Force that the Quantum heads are trying to observe and explain...

Thanks for the prime example of how guy that calls himself "open minded" can prove himself to be exceedingly narrow minded and prejudiced.

A classic tale from James Thurber. See if you can figure out the moral Stess.

laugh scold I'm not clicking that link. I've had many discussions with you and I have a good sense about you and your ways of trying to create something from nothing because of your subjective ego and your clear disinclination of anything counter-culture. Just ignore me and things will be fine and this thread won't get hijacked. This is my last response to you unless you want to actually discuss the topic in a civil way...

Getting all high and mighty Stress?

I asked her a question, you felt you had the right to answer it.

It's simple math Stess. You got called on your actions and now you are getting defensive.

Poor form on your part.

I find it interesting that you accuse others of being narrow minded given the rigidity of your own belief system and your not always subtle attempts to control the flow of a thread.

You are obviously not a stupid man but it would be nice if you would show some of the tolerence you claim to have.

I'm not playing any games but I am getting rather weary of your poorly played ones.

Perhaps you should drop them and stick to baseball?

I know this is going to be difficult for you to understand but perhaps one of the other people here can explain it to you.

You create your own reality and no one elses.

It is not your right to decide how others think, feel or reason.

While I do understand that this puts your reality on shakey ground that is your problem and no one elses. Be aware that many people in the real world will call you on it when you incorrectly make accusations against them. It is not an attack against you it is just one of the many things that an adult in our society has to face.

Red_Cherry: any experiences u want to share ?

I have an experience almost every day!

I'm beginning to think there is a time warp in my bedroom, or the line between the spirit and physical worlds is thinner than we believe. I can walk into my bedroom, put something down, then when I go to retrieve it, I can never find it! I knew I laid it somewhere, but WHERE???! I look all over and it is nowhere to be found! I swear, a few things just up and walked away.

Do I cross that line, put down my comb..or whatever.. then step across the line again back into the physical plane?dunno

I have a conscious memory of walking into my room with the intent of putting something back, and a conscious memory of looking for it, but everything in between is a mystery. confused

That happens to me. When looking for something I may study a table of scattered items, it's not there, I go off around the house looking for a few minutes, come back and it is right there, in the most obvious position on the table confused dunno

I had a poltergeist or some such that was pulling pranks like for a few years.

I’ve also talked to a few people that have dealt with much nastier things.

StressFree: I think they are natural occurrences, but we define them as supernatural because they are not accepted as empirical in our paradigms...

I had a long discussion the other day with some Christians about this... particularly about how Jesus' healing powers will once be able to be mastered by humans. Apparently some do have this ability to heal with their hands and balancing the energy zones in our energy grid system (auras and chakras).

Yes, SF, some of us do already have that ability. I know many who can heal with their hands, and there's even a place nearby me called "Healing Hands" with practitioners who do just that. I know one man who can do this with just a few seconds of touch. I'd like to refine my gift to that level, and I believe it's possible.

I've been healing through touch and energy for 26 years now, and I've gotten better with practice, and learned better processes over the years...like how to do it by channeling the energy from the Universe rather than using my own.

I agree that most of what's classified as "supernatural" is really just natural, and that we can all learn how to see, feel, hear, and do these things if we're open and work at it.

And yes, I've had many experiences with the "paranormal"...which again, I believe to be normal. We've just separated ourselves from these things for a couple of centuries under the restrictions of the Christian church(es), and so we lost touch. Our ancestors were much more in touch with the entire world until they started to get punished for it.

You have a spirit trying to get your attention. I had similar experiences in my last house until a friend of mine who can see them came over. Through her, Nonnie and I got in touch. Before that, I had things happen like the screwdriver I'd just used and set right back down beside me disappeared, and I couldn't find it even though I got up on my hands and knees to look for it (I was lying on my back assembling a desk at the time), and then finally just stated that I really needed it, and asked for its return. I laid back down, reached out my hand, and it was right where I'd put it before it disappeared.

Just one example of exactly the type of thing you're talking about, BCLady. It happened for a couple of weeks until my friend showed up and helped. I thought I was going insane for a while. laugh
