If you look in the Bible, there are an amazing number of people that God wants his followers to murder. For example, in Exodus 35:2 God lays down this commandment:

For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death.
Think about that how many people work on the Sabbath -- all the employees of Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, Home Depot, Linnens & things, grocery stores, convenience stores, power plants, airlines, hospitals, emergency services and on and on and on. Don't rabbis, priests and preachers work on the Sabbath? God wants all of them dead.
Then look at Deut 21:18-21. It says:

If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father and mother, who does not heed them when they discipline him, then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his town at the gate of that place. They shall say to the elders of his town, ‘This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of the town shall stone him to death. So you shall purge the evil from your midst; and all Israel will hear, and be afraid.
That is a whole lot of teenagers that we need to kill.

Christians believe that a creator is essential. Scientists believe that the idea of a "creator" is pure mythology, and that the complexity arose through natural processes like evolution. Who is right?

You can actually answer this question yourself with a little logic. Here are the two options:

The complexity of life and the universe did arise completely spontaneously and without any intelligence. Nature created all the complexity we see today.
An intelligent creator created all of the complexity that we see today because complexity requires intelligence to create it.
The advantage of the first option is that it is self-contained. The complexity arose spontaneously. No other explanation is required.
The problem with the second option is that it immediately creates an impossibility. If complexity cannot arise without intelligence, then we immediately must ask, "Who created the intelligent creator?" The creator could not spring into existence if complexity requires intelligence. Therefore, God is impossible.

In other words, by applying logic, we can prove that God is imaginary.

"Hello, my name is Jesus. I love you deeply. I have loved you since you were conceived in the womb and I will love you for all eternity. I died for you on the cross because I love you so much. But if you do not get down on your knees and worship me, and if you do not EAT MY BODY and DRINK MY BLOOD, then I WILL INCINERATE YOU WITH UNIMAGINABLY TORTUOUS PAIN IN THE FIRES OF HELL FOR ALL ETERNITY BWAH HA HA HA HA HA!"
Yes, this is the central message of Christianity. See John 6:53-54 and Mark 16:16.
Think about this message. We have a being who, according to the Standard Model of God, embodies love. Yet, if you do not get down on your knees and worship him, you will be physically tortured for all eternity. What sort of love is that?

The utter silliness and contradiction of Jesus' core message should make it obvious to you: God is imaginary.

That's not true. In the beginning a natural event created the universe as we know it, and the earth did not form until billions of years later. The creation story in Genesis is completely wrong. Simply read Genesis and you can see it. For example, the Bible says that light and darkness are created after the water but before the sun. Everyone knows that the sun came first, then the planet and its rotation (which is what causes light and darkness to occur on a daily basis) and then the water, and this all happened over million of years. What is the boy's father doing to his son to try & help the situation? I went through the same thing but only with a step daughter,my ex kept her under control, plus at the same time I did all i could to bond with the girl. In the end the daughter & me became best friends and everything turned out ok.tips dont try to ever be his mother, until you are close enough leave the disciplin to him, it is very hard work in mixed family's but it it is worth it you can get through this problem. Good luck & I hope it works out before yet another child wins in a relationship.

You are right to think someone selfish to smoke in front of children & non smokers.I smoked for 34 years & gave up cold turkey because my ex wife was given 6 months to live if she did not stop smoking, so I stopped with her,sadly we went our separate ways but 7 years on she is not only still with us, but in much better shape.But there is more than meets the eye in this surge to get people to quite in the uk.

Conrad; we are talking about central London, If the police opened fire with rubber bullets, the streets would of been filled with gunfire,and many people would have died, is that what you think should of happened?? There are more guns in london homes than anywhere else!!!!! Two wrongs never make a right. Why do you think the Army was not called in, besides the fact that it would of told the country that the police could not handle the situation alone.

Atos Health Care ??????

Hi folks, Just wanted to know if anyone who has really been too ill to work, has been ill treated by Atos,who work for the Department of work & pensions,and was forced to go through one of there none medical examinations Would Love to share my bizarre experience with you after I was forced to go ( ALL benefits stopped if you do not attend)Just after losing two fingers in a operation that went wrong?? Am I alone in the treatment I received ??
