In my opinion both options cannot even be called theories for most of his supporters. Just beliefs.
God is part of a religious belief, learned from chilhood.
The Big Bang is a belief supported by people who learned the existence of that scientific theory, but they do not understand or know how to explain. They support this idea as others support the idea of a creator.
Scientists know (but they not know all), the rest talks absolutely without knowledge.

how about,God created billions of big bangs, and we r the result of only one of them.(my theory)
Once upon a time, before god created earth and humans, he felt some ungodly stirring in his loins. He tried to pull off the offending organ he had bestowed on himself in order to rectify his own mistake when suddenly...
Thus the universe was created. True story. There's no way you can argue against that one.
OMG, God had a mistaken Lobotomy then, instead having one on his brain,he had one on his loins. And i thought he never made mistakes.

Well there is factual information that our immediate universe is expanding from some common point. Hence the Big Bang theory. From my understanding. But no one knows what that took place in, or what that bubble, the universe, is expanding in. No one knows what eternity is. It is a total mystery. Religion minded people have put forth all kinds of ridiculous explanations, a human like God with a whole happy family, eternal bliss or damnation. Truth is, they don't know that any better then you or I or Jesus for that matter. Any one who tells you so, you have to take their word for it. They sell a lot of books. There are scientists too who want to make a scientific religion and tell us that they will soon have the explanation of it all. Science at least has been uncovering and will continue to discover truths in this mystery. In the past, the dark ages, they were burned, tortured, beheaded, etc. or imprisoned for this, by religious zealots. Religious zealots would like to push us back to those days, they dominate at least 1 political party in the US.

To be honest, I do not know - I was not there, and no one I know or have heard of was. I do however see the law of the universe, which is causation.
We can agree on the big bang hypothetically as the most probably, and I would be happy about that, because then we could speculate about what caused it
You left out "None of the Above" Actually, the big bang is a theory. God is a myth. Neither one of them is correct. The whole big bang theory is based on a simplistic assumption.

I agree what yoy wrote about these zealots.
The opposite of them are scientists making religion, that's true. And agnostics believing them
Religion trying to be science, that's wrong, but at least believe in God can make some people act in an ethical manner consistent with these beliefs.
But people who believe in the Big Bang without knowing what is or could be that idea does not make them do better or wiser.

I know plenty of people who don´t believe in religion who are plenty more wiser, kinder, ethical and generous of heart than plenty who do. So you can´t go generalising that being religious = better values
Basically, if u look at the language used in science, you will find that it has a whole other quality, than the language of politics and religion.
In the first case, the words are carefully chosen, analyzed and tested, and the results are emerging facts about the physical existence.
In the second case, words and symbols are not used as standing, perhaps inadequately, for things and events, but as a illustration that creates the things or events.
Politics is as outdated as religion in that sense, and the people are just as stupid in buying it as they bought the religious mess of the past. So enjoy the crusade.
Then what is missing, is the science of the human consciousness, the parts where thoughts cannot reach.
Still, I think there is something worthy the name, or word, God
Big bang theory all the way. If there was a God he or she wouldn't have allowed the attrocities that have happened in the past and also in the present day. How could a God, deity, higher power or whatever else you want to call it idly stand by and watch their creation cause so much pain and suffering to each other. I know there is free will to all men (and women) but that really would be taking it too far. God was just a way for the church (religion) to have power over us and to keep us where they wanted us. Giving to them in other words. Sorry but religion has had its day and its time to move on from the days of stoning women and having witch hunts. After all ... we are not animals. Oh, actually, wait a minute .........

If by the universe you mean the empty space surrounding planets and stars, well it can't have an origin.Empty space is just nothingless.Nothingless can't have a begining as its nothing to begin with

Many scientists like the multiverse theory. It removes the puzzle of how the laws of nature of our single universe seem so suited for producing life. The multiverse idea can explain this happening more down to chance rather than by some divine cosmic design.

Well if it never began it can't be,,,. If it did then what was there before that,,,,If it never began and is, then that is a total mystery, or the real God if you will. No happy family, no son, no virgin birth, no resurrection, no heaven or hell after life,,,, all inventions of religion.

Maybe an attempt by science to create a religion,,,,

I didn´t generalise.
Many people are wise, for example those who accept they don't know what could be the origin of Universe.
Others keep an ethical behavior without having a religion, and many keep an ethical behavior BECAUSE THEY HAD A RELIGION.
In any case, that doesn't change the fact that many do not have any scientific knowledge and they support the Big Bang theory, simply because they dislike religion.
Can you explain exactly what was the Big Bang, why it didn't happen before or after, what was the reason, the cause?
If you know it, congratulations, but you can listen everyday supporters of the Big Bang theory that not even know who was Newton or Kopernik.
