I don't know "the answer" any more than anyone else, but I think I do have a handle on this: We are always trying to figure things out with the limited tools (senses, etc...) we have here, in this somewhat confined "life", as we know in the here and now. For example, not everything is necessarily three dimensional. Perhaps science fiction writers have a glimmer of truth in ideas concerning wrinkling and condensing areas and distances in Space. Some researchers believe that both Mars and Venus were second and third "Earth's". Some believe that Mars may yet be evolving. The concept of Time may be a gross error, or at least, not a factor in the final analysis. (oh how I love this stuff!)
Bluefish22: I don't care. Makes no difference to me, I am alive, on my planet, with lots of pretty stars at night, and a nice warm sun in the day.
I think it's better to enjoy those things that waste your time singing hallelujahs or looking for explanations (unless you work for NASA or get paid for it).
sirLarryIII: If by the universe you mean the empty space surrounding planets and stars, well it can't have an origin.Empty space is just nothingless.Nothingless can't have a begining as its nothing to begin with
Not quite so fast ----there are measurable distances in space. A geography of sorts, albeit endless. You can't have a measurable area if there is "nothing" there to measure. Kapiche?

If my memory serves me , there is no empty space but plasma
When we see the greatness of the universe,I cannot think of any other explanation exept Supreme Creators grand design. But again, possibilities are endless. The only thing i m sure of that, there are some higher intelligence laughing at us above there.

I agree. How are you? The last time we talked, the thread got pulled. Write again, you're one of my faves.
GUZMAN1: In my opinion both options cannot even be called theories for most of his supporters. Just beliefs.
God is part of a religious belief, learned from chilhood.
The Big Bang is a belief supported by people who learned the existence of that scientific theory, but they do not understand or know how to explain. They support this idea as others support the idea of a creator.
Scientists know (but they not know all), the rest talks absolutely without knowledge.
I'm still wondering what I am doing here, let alone the other question of whats beyond forever.Even in imagination there are more questions or theories to put to the test. The theory of G O D seems a comfort zone of hope or a conduit keeping our imagination robust whilst gathering facts about our existence/being....

All I know is I can't wait for the grape harvest so I can make another big batch of Cabernet Sauvignon. It's been a dry year so far so the sugar content should be reasonable high. I'm planning on about 20 gallons this year. Do you still make wine?

The fact that observation of the stars shows that the immediate universe is expanding from a common point supports a "Big bang" theory. Our immediate universe may very well have started that way 14 or so billion years ago. Science did not concoct this without facts. BUT, science is at a loss to explain what that big bang took place in, or what our universe is expanding in, or what there was before the big bang. The religious explanations are beliefs, with no facts, that are pounded, intimidated, scared, into people from a very early age.

Actually, the big bang is a theory. God is a myth.
Neither one of them is correct.
The whole big bang theory is based on a simplistic assumption.
