They are, in fact before you get married it is wise to declare your assets so there are no fights upon the occassionof a divorce.
That's why so many people get screwed. That's why so many people put all their assets under a Trust, it can't be touched.
that's why you enter into a Prenuptial Agreement, before the Marriage contract.

i saw a show on contraced relationships and it seemed to work for the people on the show. the chance of penalties kept them more in line.

in the very doubt i will marry again ..i wouldnt need one ... i know what i have to start with and he knows what he has i would nOt want his things if we broke up and everythng we got together just gets sold or split .... If a marriage has to be contracted other than signing the marriage papers then it feels like a buisness deal to me not a joining of to people who love each other.. but thats jmo ....

Here in the Caribbean, I am always getting offered large amounts of money to marry the sister of a fellow worker so that they can get a citizenship in the US. It used to happen a lot, but they are not making it as easy as it once was. I am talking thousands of dollars here.
Not for me but some people do it. Is this the type of contract marriage you are talking about ?

Heard that women from overseas marry men in the USA and they make a contract to get married so she can become a US citizens then annul the marriage instead of getting a divorce.

Good post....I've seen many arranged marriages that have succeeded; not that I'd want one - too old, too set in my ways, too cynical to believe in something I've failed in more than once to hope such a contract could work for me.
