Well, it migh certainly seem that way, but the fact is that - as a whole - the people on this planet are doing much better than ever before (but this doesn't make for the same attention-grabbing headlines in the news as the gory stuff does, so people aren't as aware of it).

I used to worry about 'things', but I since retired and now I only worry about how to find more time to enjoy everything I want to do. Sorry I don't worry about the economy, environment, politics or anything else. Life is too short to worry about things I can not control.

I do not mean to offend, but I disagree......
The environment can recover, and has many times over the millenniums.
I have read about and seen instances of significantly polluted rivers and other environments that have recovered once the source of pollution was stopped.
The environment is very resilient in my opinion.
Are you referring to global warming?
If so, that is still a controversial issue regarding the cause of the warming IMO.
I am not convinced the cause is CO2.
Especially since the recent revelation of the pro global warming scientist's computer emails that showed slanted and distorted reporting on the warming of the planet.
I think the sun is warming the planet, just like it has off and on over the millenniums.
What worries me the most?
The movement by this president and this congress towards government intrusion in our lives, and more socialism here in the US. And once that is instituted, it rarely if ever can be repealed.
I know Europe and many other countries (Canada) accept their Socialism and big government, but I prefer a less intrusive government and individual liberties.
I have become afraid of the United States government.
