ladylumps: I think there needs to be more getting laid on here than people laying into each other - it burns off some excess energy and puts everyone into a good mood nice and relaxed and chilled

Keeneland: To be honest i find that mail very patronising. Nobody ever said anybody HAD to stop reading threds? I said if you dont like how a thread is developing you ACN stop reading it. The choice is yours. I read certain threads and they bore me....so i stop reading. I dont feel the need to start complaining about boring threads?

You dont get involved in confontation cause you find it immature and annoying? In life there will be confrontation weather you like it or not. And to call people immature cause you don't like the attitude they may have at times is very patronising i think. Have you never lost you temper or had an arguement? And what is all this about bad language. Most of us use it in life and i dont ask anyones permission there so i am certainly not going to stop using it on here! Everyone is over 18 so i am sure some bad laguage wont shock them.
Some people are a turn the other cheek and not get involved type and some find it impossible to turn the other cheek cause it is not in their character. Thats life!


Well what if you see a good thread and its fun for a while and then suddenly something insults another person or accuses them of being a fake and before you know it, there is fighting again? Thats the kind of thing im talking about. With boring threads, at last you have the opportunity to liven them up a bit. Once the fighting starts, its very hard to divert from that. It was not my intention to be patronising to anyone so if i offended anyone, i apologise.

I agree there is always going to be confrontation but sometimes it seems some people go looking for it. I'm not singling anyone out by saying that. It just seems to be a pattern here lately from what i can see. We all lose our tempers and have an argument but not every five minutes. Okay maybe i phrased it wrong when i mentioned bad language. The odd swear word here or there doesn't really matter but its the nastiness is what annoys me. Like i said before, nobody is asking anyone to change their personalities.

I can see this thread was a waste of time since its not going to change anything but i just thought its a bit sad when there is so much fighting and nasty behaviour especially this time of year. I just thought since its Christmas, i would make an appeal for us to at least try and get along. Clearly that was misguided.

It looks like the results of the poll speak for themselves. Anyway I've made my point and it looks like its not going to do any good so I give uproll eyes

I dont think the thread was a waste of time you can see from the poll that the majority of people that voted feel the same and a few people agreed on the thread. I think anyone else that is frustrated and bored with the way things have turned here recently can see that they are not alone. Ok some voted no and I'd say if you had put a 3rd option of do you want more fighting and aggro some people would have voted there as well, its life I as others have mentioned people wont always agree and some people wont like each other but we are all adults we can be tolerant and respectful of each other.

Very eloquently put N. There are too many threads that turn into a battlefield of insults. So many people have turned away from the forums.

Yes there is confrontation in real life but surely there is no need for it here, it's a dating site not a fight site.

to be honest it not as bad as it was some time back obviouly there will always be disagreements and there will always be the rabble rousers who just like to stir it up but i think people are finally copping on not to give the rabble rousers the satisfaction of constantly arguing with them

yea i do think their is a lot of them here, that ones of my mean reasons for leaving the last time,came back and its no differnet here,i just post less and dont get involved!!but i think people take their anger out on the threads they have to let their steam off some where JMO

I for one totally agree and understand Dublinguy's point! thumbs up I used to really look forward to logging onto cs most nights and having such a laugh that my belly would ache and my computer screen would be covered in coffee (sorry not pleasant thought but used to keep wipes by the screen for emergency choking and spluttering on it)
I would love to see some more craic and fun and dare I say even some flirting on line.
most nights now I log in, read my emails, check the forums and log out again uh oh blues
it would be good to see a return of the banter and laughs and even some good heated debate and disagreement grin
