jeepers: What was I thinking that day ??

I am like you J. I change from day-to-day on this subject. Some days I think they would be impossible, then I believe well maybe.

Yes and No depends on the individuals...once they are "WILLING" to make it work, why not?

Hi Pixels. wave

As I see it, there is a huge risk, more so for the one who is actually relocating, in leaving behind their previous life. If that person is gainfully employed, has friends, family or children, it can be very difficult, and often, sadly doomed to failure once the love bug goes into hibernation!

What do u think?

If the distance between the two is, and constantly remains, greater than the length of the male's member, then the only relationships possible are friendship and/or fantasy.

I've lived in the US, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Korea, and France.

And one lesson I've learned is that no matter how sincere the relationship might be, as soon as someone moves permanently across an ocean it's all over.

There may be some sentimental residue that remains, but the relationship and any potential it may have for the future is over.

And the sooner one realizes that fact and moves on with his/her life the better.

Of course that's not true if the move is known to be temporary like for a soldier or sailor.

In response to: THE BIG PROBLEM IS CROSBY STILLS AND NASH....(YOUNG) WOODSTOCK?

IF YOU CAN'T BE WITH THE ONE YOU LOVE HONEY ... LOVE THE ONE YOUR WITH .......AND MANY PEOPLE ...ESPECIALLY A LOT OF GUYS ...LIVE THIS WAY

I don't know if it's really "especially guys".
Guys are just less skillfull at keeping it a secret.
They tend to brag about their exploits.
I think that women are at least as prone to filandering as men.
Especially when the man is not around.

Out of sight, out of mind.

In the Tex-Mex culture there is a mythical figure called "Sancho".
Sancho is always waiting, and as soon as the man leaves the home Sancho is there hitting on his woman (with a lot of success).

It's a joke, but there's a lot of truth behind it.

There is also a difference between an established relationship that must endure separation vs. a LDR initiated on the internet. I would consider the first but, not the second. So-called internet only LDR is basically a pen pal or phone friend, a relationship but not one I would commit to as a Long distance relationship in the dating sense.
