hn2009: You've decided to take the plung and get married. But he wants you to relocate with marriage. Would you relocate if he was living in another country?
I voted "out of the question" simply because I feel that it would not be a good idea to up-root my 7 year old from his school, friends and family

I would relocate provided i could get employment where i went to. If i cared for the person enough and felt i had a connection with them i would put it all on the line.

I have actually done it. Not just to another country but another continent. Literally half way across the world actually! To a culture very different from mine.. Two children later we divorced eventually but I don't put it down to my relocating. I would certainly consider it again. If the relationship is worth considering marriage, then obviously relocating would be an easy decision to make.
roseofsharon: Sometimes it just takes a leap of faith, my friend. Its often not the things we do in life that we regret but the things we DON'T do...?!
Go for it!!
Yes.... But first of all. In need to find out how I can get enough for the ticket....
With the living costs here - it's not possible to save up, from my income - the way it is... now !
'cos I belong to the lot, who's to pay the price - for the ones, who lived on loanes in their big expensive houses... encouraged by our government, so they could be reelected.... once more..
Now the same politicians - let the same people have tax-cuts, and raise the taxes, for the ones - who did not take part, in the dance around the "golden Calf" - as we say it..

In a heart beat, I can't stand being away from her, just thinking of being with her makes my heart weep because I'm not there with her
Cowhand: Have often thought about relocating..... Am not so fond - of my little country any more...... Too expensive to live in on Pension...
Some time ago a friend I have had for some years, simply asked: "Why don't you come to the Phils and feel rich" . . And maybe I could.... If nothing happends here, surely I will make a change - in some years...
I'll give you three guesses why I am in Honduras, and the first two don't count. A pension is what many Gringos here live on very nicely. The weather is warm or hot all year long and you would find a great many more people from the U.S.to make friends with.
