I think that when you make the commitment to marriage you give it your all. As a couple I think it would be extremely important to discuss and be clear about how you felt these kinds of decisions before entering into marriage. If you are unwilling to be flexible - I couldn't foresee a relationship standing the test of time.

I did that. He stayed with me in England for nine month, and what a lovely man. I move to his and wham! Within a month I was in a woman's refuge. Careful! I even stayed on his turf for one week before I actually moved over. He was smart. I'm now in a two bed maisonette with a job in isolation, happy days

My guess... and it's only a long shot..... is that he is from Ireland !!
If its love it's love, after making sure it was real, no problem. I have lived both in China and Thailand, so I dont see a problem, I guess I am just a romantic.
