Ah, the Canadian contingent has arrived. I notice Canada is not represented on the list of options. Another one on the 'other' list, I see. Not good enough!

I guess that's why we have to keep popping back to this thread at the first opportunity, to ensure he doesn't forget his friends!!!. laugh

Otherwise I am sure the votes might soon sway more and more to just one or two options. Now, how fair would that be to the 'others', such as you fair Canadians, Scandinavians, Italians, Aussies and so on.... ??? scold mumbling

Oh, dear. yes, you've got to like salt! Anyone with vertigo or prone to fluid retention, stay away from vegemite! laugh

But if you do partake sweetowen, all I can say is, "LESS IS MORE". Using a knife edge amount, spread it VERY THINLY on a water cracker or two. It is an acquired taste let's say. If you do get hooked, you can have it spread verrrrrrrrrry thinly on toast.

When I was about 5 or 6 yrs old, as a relatively new immigrant to Australia, my parents bought it, no doubt on the recommendation from our Aussie neighbours. No instructions given as to how to use it, I would mix a teaspoonful of the stuff in hot milk!!! uh oh Then, proceed to drink the poison! barf It must have done something though, as I kept coming top of the class! Forget Omega 3 for kids' brains. Just give them vegemite!!! laugh

Actually, could be just the thing...."Happy Aussie vegemites"

There is an Aussie slang saying, to call someone "a happy little vegemite", is to say that person is happy.

From the 1954 jingle for a Vegemite advertisement, which showed rosy cheeked little children merrily chomping away at vegemite sandwiches. I'm sure you want to know the words, and will try and find the jingle itself and post it on a separate thread. Look out for it. You will find yourself humming it to work in no time! laugh

The Happy Little Vegemite Song!

"We're happy little Vegemites
As bright as bright can be.
We all enjoy our Vegemite
For breakfast, lunch and tea.
Our Mummies say we're growing stronger every single week
Because we love our Vegemite.
We all adore our Vegemite.
IT PUTS A ROSE IN EVERY CHEEK!
We're growing stronger every week."
