I can understand the points you guys make. I would prefer a world without them altogether. The reality however is obvious and sad. So many guns in the US means you need a gun to fight someone with a gun.

Abram: I'd say ditto, except for silencers. If someone is shooting at me, I'd like to know from where. If I can hear it, I'm still kickin', and I've always been someone who returns the favor.
A good sniper would only need one shot, and if the first shot is the only shot, the sound levels won't matter much for you.
For the same reasons as the other guy said about machine guns, I don't care too much about silencers. The average fellah, in the average situation isn't too hindered by having to buy a set of muffs for his head.

oh gods how i have dreamed of playing with rpg's and grenades oh if it were so i could say that i have lived hoorah .

I mean, the logical concept behind it, not the physical items.
To say "I don't need it, because I haven't needed it".
There's a lot more depth to that idea when you apply it to specific situations, which should be considered.
Treating it on the surface like that just seems... incomplete, to me.
I'm not saying she's wrong, per se, I'm just saying surely there's more to it than that? :)

I'm for gun control with limits. Limits such as Americans with a criminal record such as a felony (assault) to not bear arms...wait---that's already in place! Also, a limit on assault weapons---like a bazooka and other Rambo like guns or a nuclear bomb launcher hahaha.

I'm against gun control cause if the ability to carry a firearm is taken away from a law abiding citizen then it's obvious only criminals will have guns.
Those who are for gun control are wrong in thinking that by passing a law that those who don't follow the law in the first place will suddenly start obeying the law and not have them or use them.Or that if all guns are taken away that the criminals aren't able to get them.

Depending on which one you had, it could roll your car if you fired it. And the ammo cannister would require at least a pick up to carry. I'd settle for a May Deuce. I could never be able to afford to fire it, but I'd like to have one.

I have no guns but I never want to see the constitution changed to make it illegal to own them. If I were living somewhere out of touch with any security like an island or far back in the hills I would own more than one, thank you.
