I was talking with a salesperson on the phone today about the fence I'm getting ready to put up. I'm going to use what is called a "T-post" or medal 7 ft. posts that you put in the ground. They are a little cheaper than wood.
The man is telling me that he knew of these people that had a stallion in one pasture and a group of mares in the other. The stallion got so fired up that he rared up and landed on one of those metal stakes.

whisperer366: Because there are a lot of people do not know how to deal with the animals .. With the knowledge that they receive the brunt of rights .. Therefore, the prevailing view is (care of them but don't beat them )

Seriously though. Anyone who has ever had anything to do with horses knows you can't beat them. A typical thoroughbred weighs half a ton and so it's good sense to have it cooperating with you......and they have good memories.
Happy horses are no different than people. They are much easier to get on with.

Yep....when you really think about it, they are a lot bigger than we are.
Yeah....it was a sad thing to hear. But common sense.....putting a stallion in a pasture beside a couple of mares with nothing more than some wire separating them....that was really taking a chance.
