I sometimes catch myself thinking if I approve monarchy (modern example) or not. I don't know if people should pay for someone who is just born with some titles and did nothing for his/her country yet... Still I think countries with monarchy somehow have better moral standards. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but I see people love their kings and queens. Is that because everyone has to have their idols? So I'm confused and don't have my strong opinion about that. Lets discuss :)

We have a Monarch here in Belgium and he does try to bring the very political parties to the table to compromise on certain issues. Last couple of months, our government QUIT! (yay!! the idiots ) and it was up to the King to bring the country together and keep things cool. So, even though I've sometime seen the Monarchs as a bunch of lazy bast***ds on the government social dole, I have a new appreciation for who they are and their impotence to a country's political stability.

Nahhhh...you won't get lated love...just your opinion.
I would rather have Betty as Queen and some separation between head of state and executive power. I used to be a republican, but the concept of a President Thatcher, Blair or Bush type figure as head of state has pushed me into thinking of the monarchy as a lesser evil.
And they have become much more self-funding (which they can afford) over the last few decades and trimmed the state's expenses for 'hangers on' and relatives.
And besides which, Betty's been quite hard working and done rather a good job.

It'll pass with time.
Don't get me wrong. I am not one of those super romantic, waiting for prince charming on white horse type. But as I know many people from different countries I somehow notice people from those countries really have better morals and ethics. Maybe it just happened to meet such people for me (sorry if I make mistakes, English is not my native language).
Watched a Documentary the other night on the Princes visit to South Africa, was suprized just how much Harry was involved in things too, sure they Mother would be a proud woman

am I the only person whose voted that the royal family is rediculous and should disappear right now? .. oh well, that's my opinion as I don't see royalty as the way to run a modern domocracy .. but maybe I'm wrong.
I would rather see a head of state voted by the people for the people .. born to privilege shouldn't form part of modern society - and that goes for the lords too ..
A person should succeed by merit - and that can't fully happen in a monarchy. And the British national anthem should change. Our sports stars cannot get inspired like other nations can before a match because of that anthem .. and that's why we lost to Germany the other day (well it might not be, but I'm looking for any reason to make sense of that lol)
Since the beginning of time monarchies have risen for time, then have fallen of their time. Serfdom will never, and can never prevail when there are thinking, able bodied citizens who can, and will create what is needed for their lives, the lives of loved ones. Pure monarchies have always resulted in tyrannic controls that begin with small incisions, allowed to happen of the peasures those cuts in one area, give to others in another area. Of human nature the original sin, self-love, of selfish intention, takes control of the now elite groups, and they become pleased with their creation. A pleasure felt, not of their living, experience of serfdom, but of their willingness to sell out their neighbors, their morals, and values. They sit behind glass, patting themselves on their backs, saying, "Oh we give so much from our stores of food, and lifes essentials. We get the cream of the crop, and they think they do too."
They never last, and the people, of human nature, will take them out. Just look at the lists, bottom of the page,
