ali110: Bob we are educated and education teaches us how to spend a good life also teaches us to respect each other and each other's feelings ,Unfortunatly some black sheeps dont want to see the peace in the world so they are struggling to start a new conflict in the world
Totally agree with you, but you have to be educated to understand how bad this could esculate, enough lifes are lost as it is
Boban1: I was wondering.... if your planing on burning a lot of Qouran ,bible , talmud ... do you actually bay them or you just rob a church ,mosque or synagogue ...
moonmana1: GUess I am ignorant.. PLease explain. I cannot imagine thinking that anyone can comprehend Islam as being right, sane, as why would anyone follow sharia law? As I understand it Sharia law and Islam are as one?
Sharia Law is not so different from any other form of law however it is based upon the Qur'an and contains many moral exhortations forming the basis of Islamic (sharia) law.
I'm English and a christian (roman catholic) living in the middle east, however i cannot comprehend any nation having the death penalty. Also the church is not allowed to be directly be involved in our constitution or law making faculty. In the US there exists the death penalty AND religion plays a huge part in politics...does that mean that the whole of christianity in the US is supportive of the death penalty?
I'm not sure how you can ridicule or denounce what you openly state you don't know. If it is a fear of the unknown then read and understand both the Qur'an and the basics of sharia law...then by all means denounce it in an informed way.

Floggings,Chopping off of extremities,Heads,Stoning,Hanging Gays etc is pretty Civilized I gather!
The aim of "terrorism" is to provoke fear, hatred, violence, and ultimately, governmental repression. The idea is that it will lead to the rise of a revolutionary movement.
But, as often as not, the supposed "terrorism" is actually fabricated by the government itself and is used as an excuse for canceling civil liberties and imposing police state measures.
The burning of the Koran is the same. It's intentional provocation and intended to ultimately lead to a reduction of liberty. The "reaction" that follows the burning of the Koran will very likely be staged by the government itself.

Not at all but death by firing squad, lethal injection, electric chair or gassing isn't humane either! Are we complaining about sharia law and it's role in religion (or vice versa) or that we just feel the punishments don't fit with our society? If so then why does the US have the death penalty and why do politicians use it to gain votes? This doesn't sit with any European society so should we lobby the UN?
Two wrongs don't make a right..and facile comments don't make a cogent argument!
I think its a great idea, they should burn the bible and all the other religious books too. Let people get on with their lives instead of creating a hole that doesn't exist in their minds. Sooner its all gone and we all become spiritual beings the better off we'll be.

You took my statement of being ignorant out of context. WAs having a conversation with another CS member which became private.
Having stated this Conrad put it well. Floggings,Chopping off of extremities,Heads,Stoning,Hanging Gays etc is pretty Civilized I gather. Sounds pretty barbaric to me. As far as the death penalty in the USA. Is state by state, not one uniformed law. And religion has nothing to do with the death penalty... Let me see. Would not Beheading someone possibly cause death.. A lawyer you are NOT. Even to be slightly beheaded I think can cause problems??
Yep I'll make it a priority to check into this right away. Sounds very comparable to modern law???????????? Very sad you think this even is SANE.

Not a bad concept...but we'd all probably start a fight over the correct way to burn things! How is the weather back home?

Killing someone against their own free will, by whatever means, is wrong. Agreed? Sharia law is not uniformally enforced throughout the eastern World. Each country has it's own rules and interpretations much the same as each State in the US does. Sharia law covers banking too...where it is not possible to charge interest on a loan...is that part of their law scary too?
And i said religion is heavily involved in the law making process in the US. Are you stating this isn't the case?
The burning of the Qur'an in Eid is the same as burning the bible at Christmas....to some it is just a book but to others it is their life...and i said any other form of law...most western law is based upon the English system from the 17th Century and in turn that is based on Roman Law from 4th Century...sharia law is based on 7th Century teachings...who is to say who is right or modern?

You may have a very good point there..
But then if people REALLY found out what this God, Budda, Higher Power, etc. was, just think of all the religious folk that would be put out of work because they could no longer keep people in fear..

Imagine, them having to stand in a Breadline, worrying where the next meal will come from!
moonmana1: That storm cloud follows you wherever you go jv. Smile, you just might be able to wake up without hating someone today.. Lucky there are very few people that think like you do. Have a good day my friend
"Pastor" Terry Jones is not "a man of God" nor is any person who would participate in such an atrocity.
The idea of burning the Koran is one of complete hatred, ignorance, and fear. In this nation and elsewhere, many talk about the extremists and terrorists who are "out there."
Indeed, who are the extremists and terrorists? Where do they live? How are they dressed? What language do they speak? What religion do they practice?
I am sickened by this whole thing...
From today's NY Times "But American officials have said they could do little to prevent the congregation from exercising its constitutional right to free speech."
on "the freedom of speech" jargon! This act would be a hate crime if there ever was one! If my "freedom" is at someone else's expense, I am NOT free.
If "freedom" is at anyone's expense, who is truly free?

I'm not seeing how someone 1000 miles away effects your freedom? Your freedom is more impacted when you board an airplane. (body searches, etc)
