Never touched it, or even been interested, but have nothing against cannibis.Know those that do, and in there day to day life there are no signs of any adverse effects.

I also know several very successful people who smoke regularly and are balanced people and parents. Our governments treat us like children at times, this is something that about personal choice. Legalise and give adults the choice
venusenvy: In recent years one of my BFF'S died after fighting adema carcinoma for 8 years...The procedures, the surgeries, the medications were horrendous. The one thing that enabled her to cope was Marijuana...pot...weed...fatty...Thats reality. Dont tell me it should be illegal
I don't see any reason for it to be illegal, none! I'm not against it in anyway, nor do I hold it against someone if they enjoy it. I used to, until all you could get was mind bender weed.

One of the people i know use it is in a wheelchair,in pain most of the day in his legs.Like he says, he takes his pain killers and they help, but the cannibis helps the same, and he can find relief in his mind for that short time.
jonnt: And as far as legalising it ,, well i hope you turn your driving licences in ..cause most drive stupid as it is ,,
Why,no different to a piss-head behind the wheel!should all drinkers hand there licence in,even if they don't drive while impaired? We already have swab-testing for illicit drugs in oz,used in conjunction with breath testing for alcohol,so to bring driving into the debate as to whether it should be legalised makes no sense to me,and if they"drive stupid as it is",perhaps thats because they are stupid.Don,t blame the drug, blame them,I've met many a thoughtful and respectful pot smoker!

I didnt say iff they lagalised it then hand your driving licence in ,, but i certainly dont agree with drivers who drive while impaired .. Pot takes 30 days to come out your system even iff youve enjoyed the one spliff ....
As you said iff some drive stupid ,its because they are ,, certainly agree with you ,, as you were also saying in your country they have swab testing ,, well thats pretty close here ,,iff not maybe its just been introduced ?
But i certainly know a lot of people who do take pot and drive and im sure the pot doesnt enhance there already non driving skills ..
But like i have already said in my previous post Achohol is the biggest doer of harm ....

Sorry mate,I hadn't read your last post when I sent my last one.The swab test is for impairment only, the impairment period of marajana is around six hours and one would pass the test after this time, having said that,I think a good night's sleep needs to be added to this before someone should drive. What remain's in the system for so long I,m not sure about, but it seems to be accepted,by the athorities at least in oz,that it is not mind altering, but again,I'm not sure of the fact's on that one.

Hi again ,,
I dont know to much about the swab tests ?
I do have friends though that have jobs were they have to have random drug tests .. They work 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off ..
When there home they realy dont like smoking the stuff because the equipment the employer uses can pick it up ,,even iff they only have a few while there home ...
Im not endorsing things but they take coke as they can get the traces out of there system quicker ....

leostartingover: I disagree. Not re: the bottom bit, but re: not seeing problems with it. I don't think it should be legalised, for the following reasons:
It has been suggested that marijuana is at the root of many mental disorders, including acute toxic psychosis, panic attacks (one of the very conditions it is being used experimentally to treat), flashbacks, delusions, depersonalization, hallucinations, paranoia, depression, and uncontrollable aggressiveness. Marijuana has long been known to trigger attacks of mental illness, such as bipolar (manic-depressive) psychosis and schizophrenia. This connection with mental illness should make health care providers for terminally ill patients and the patients themselves, who may already be suffering from some form of clinical depression, weigh very carefully the pros and cons of adopting a therapeutic course of marijuana.
In the short term, marijuana use impairs perception, judgment, thinking, memory, and learning; memory defects may persist six weeks after last use. Mental disorders connected with marijuana use merit their own category in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) IV, published by the American Psychiatric Association. These include Cannabis Intoxication (consisting of impaired motor coordination, anxiety, impaired judgment, sensation of slowed time, social withdrawal, and often includes perceptual disturbances; Cannabis Intoxication Delirium (memory deficit, disorientation); Cannabis Induced Psychotic Disorder, Delusions; Cannabis Induced Psychotic Disorder, Hallucinations; and Cannabis Induced Anxiety Disorder.
In addition, marijuana use has many indirect effects on health. Its effect on coordination, perception, and judgment means that it causes a number of accidents, vehicular and otherwise.
This maybe all true, but people tend to forget there is a difference between the weed that is smoked nowadays and the weed the 'hippies' tried to get legalized for years. The weed currently smoked contains up to 20% THC and the weed in the 60 and 70ties just 3 to 4%. So the funjoints they used to smoked were maybe sort of harmless but the stuff available now is seriousstuff. But still, I used to smoke it for 14 years and enjoyed it alot, now drainbamage that I know of :D
