bodleing: I'd rather go from personal experience. I and most people I know have used cannabis since the sixties. I have yet to come across anyone who has suffered any of the above.
On the other hand I have known many people who's lives have been wrecked or even terminated by the excessive use of alcohol.

I've been around it but never smoked any. With my health problems I wanted to keep my mind clear. With whats going on with my life now I could use a couple of hits to mellow me out.
Christmas1: Did...in my youth...did many unusual things when stoned...as part of my job (way previous)I had to do the statistics...yeah, took the work home..got stoned...did the work...HO HO HO...checked the stats next day....SURPRISE...had to do the stats all over again..they were real messed up...

leostartingover: I don't mind other people doing it, but quite honestly, wouldn't get seriously involved with someone who does it all the time. Why? Because I think it can become a coping mechanism which makes life all warm and fuzzy and stops you from facing the reality of your situation and making the necessary changes. Perhaps because my mom was an alcoholic, I prefer not to use crutches. I've seen what it can do. Also, I've seen friends when I was growing up get addicted.... they just lost all ambition and zest for life. Not for me.

You know, that's funny.... I had Vicodin prescribed a few times over the years, and I thought it was such a joke, no better than plain Tylenol. Until a friend rather excitedly asked if she could take the rest of the bottle home!
VIcodin (hydrocodone+acetaminophen) does absolutely nothing for me. I found out years later that my sister has the same experience with it.

Another experience with weed.
I had had an operation on the bottom of my right foot. My foot was in a plaster cast. This was back in the early 70's. A friend and I (the mayor's daughter) decided to smoke a couple of joints. Well of course you get the munchies. So we walked downtown to a favourite Chinese restaurant. I hobbled along feeling no pain.
While in the restaurant we came down off our little buzz. Oh god, I had to walk back to my apartment. We started back, it started to rain and I was in so much pain (just had the operation a few days before). I had wrapped a green garbage bag around my cast...passersbys laughed and made crass remarks. I don't know why? They were mean sobs. lol. By the time I made it back to my apt. my cast was a soggy mess, I was crying. BUT luckily I had one more joint hidden away....you bet I smoked it.

In recent years one of my BFF'S died after fighting adema carcinoma for 8 years...The procedures, the surgeries, the medications were horrendous. The one thing that enabled her to cope was Marijuana...pot...weed...fatty...Thats reality. Dont tell me it should be illegal
