ahem...just to let u know, Eve didn't actually "offer" any apple to adam. In fact, both made the decision to eat the apple without being influenced by the other. that particular version of your story (ie.eve was at fault for offering the apple..and adam was just stupid to eat the damn fruit..lol) has squarely put all blame on the female gender..

I believe that allegorically speaking, at some level... we all eat the fruit everyday.
If we men don't have an Eve to give us the fruit, we fantasize about her, some of us by pictures of women to take her place.
According to The Bible we all fall short of the glory of God, we all need to be forgiven, breaking a commandment, is breaking a commandment.
We might feel superior to Adam, but we all give in to temptation (our personal piece of fruit.), and it often brings sorrow into our lives.
