The whole history of the world is summed up in the fact that, when nations are strong, they are not always just, and when they wish to be just, they are no longer strong.”
Winston Churchill quotes (British Orator, Author and Prime Minister during World War II. 1874-1965)

Churchill's "Finest Hour" speech. "I have a dream" was important but more for civil rights in the US than the rest of the world.

I'll vote for President Dwight Eisenhower's 1961 Farewell Address in which he tried (vainly) to warn not only Americans, but the world about the comming dangers of the "military-industrial complex". Virtually no one seems to have listened. If more had, perhaps our world really would be a far different thing than a world of perpetual conflict, war and manufactured plagues.

Honestly, I say they are just as good as the other to be honest. Each speech for it's time meant something different. Their speeches influnenced not only the society in which they were spoken, but many afterwords as well.

Each spoke of something different, spoke of a movement, spoke of a dream.

I personally just couldn't pick one over another simply because, they are all profound in their own ways and have been tested by time.

Churchill's Finest Hour and Reagan's "Mr. Gorbachev, Tear down this wall!"

MLK's "I Have A Dream Speech" is more appropriate to the civil rights movement. Touching words nonetheless.

"i have a dream" for me...

not in a practical way...

just as a romantic powerful idea of a (political) passion for the renewal, defence of the freedom and contrasting the unjustice in society...

history is often irrational and full of unexpected events...

the enthusiasm of being unafraid to realize the dreams is fascinating for me and i am ready to partake in shaping them...
