lifeisadream: Chilean wine is good and rather inexpensive and yes the Carmenere variety is good.
(too early here for table wine but for the momento)
Those taco bell are ok but they are not Mexican, they are a mix between Mexican-American. Mexican Tacos (real ones) are better! Thank you!
(was playin' with ya) I don't eat them. The taco meat is made from the lowest grade of beef allowed by the government. The next grade down is put in dog food.
lifeisadream: so, was I. Mexican tacos are better!

I have not idea Venus how are those tamales to the "Mayan recipe" first time I hear of it, please tell me how are those, what ingredients they do have. For Christmas dinner I am sure you can find at this time of the day other Tamales, or something else like Romeritos, Turkey, etc....

I like pollo but I mean the ones that look like an envelope wrapped in banana leaves...instead of the ones in cornhusks. I am having turkey tommorow but, since Ive lived here I started a new tradition of having Tamales on Christmas eve. Hmmm now I have to rethink it.

All right, the Tamales wrapped with the banana leaves are common in many places outside the Mayan area and those Tamales are delicious I like them better. There are some very special Tamales from Chiapas: wrapped with banana leaves, filling made of chicken and a sweet sauce (mole)with one olive,a piece of prune and a small piece of the white hard egg. It sounds kind of strange combination but they are great!!
