popz567: NOWADAYS THESE QUESTION IS GOING IS GROWING BIGGER..........
I've always been a bit stubborn so if this happened when I was 18 I wouldnt listen and marry him anyways... ya thats how it happened and here I am now on cs..lol
Both of my parents are gone but I'm sure they would approve of whomever I choose. They always stayed out of my personal decisions and just wanted to make sure I was happy.
My dad would say "Nice lookin' lady ya' got there. Does she have a sister?"
And my mom would say "So...........how long before I become a grandmother?"

I've learned over the years and as a parent myself, If they disagree with your wish to marry whoever? you need to sit down and have a talk with your mom/dad they may know or see something that you dont.
Well I have never been married, but if my mom didnt approve I would definately sit down and talk to her to see why she didnt approve. She has been right on relationships in the past and she has never steered me wrong before. If its really love they will wait if necessary.
They did and we eloped. Maybe they could not afford a wedding and were coming up with all kinds of excuses. To tell you the truth, I think my mother was objecting because she was losing a housekeeper, ME She was losing a babysitter for my younger brother, ME.
reb56: maybe they are right?
It did not work out, but that was because they were always over and would not leave us alone or kept telling us what to do about anything. My Dad yelled because we bought a GE refrigerator and they were no good and did not last. I still have that refrigertor, it is older than my son and it out lasted my dad. Sorry ,Dad.
