jvaski: I only care because people with your attitude cause me great unnecessary expense by enhancing it........
What do you mean people like me.You know nothing about me.
You're only assuming and what happens when you assume something about somone and you find out later you're wrong about them.It comes back to bite you in the behind.
jvaski: It amazes me how some of you can continually and stubbornly pull wool over your eyes simply because you're conservatives... Guess it takes some really expensive medical problems to shock you into reality as to how broken the system is ....
I know first hand how medical bills can harm a family. I grew up in a home where money was always tight because of medical problems one of us had. We were often very close to losing our home and everything else.
The problem was caused was not caused by the cost of medical care. It was caused by profiteering in health care. There is a huge difference.
Get this through your skull. Allowing the government to regulate health care with the guidance of the medical industry will not solve problems, it will just create new problems.
Even more ridiculous is the idea that having the government pay for health care does not filter down to the people paying for it along with extra to support a bloated bureaucracy.
Get profiteering under control and you'll get costs under control. Support profiteering by government programs (subsidies) and you only add to the problem.

But, as usual, you have absolutely no solution to the problem.....WAIT .......you don't think there's a problem

We disagree on lots of stuff but I will defend your right to speak your mind to the death.
Will you do the same for me. Because what I see out of the democrats is they would not. By the way Our Government want's us the citizens to have a id before we are allowed to go on the internet. Do you think we need one? Or do you think that is just to protect the children as most bad laws are designed to protect the children.

You claim I don't think there is a problem?
Let me repeat:
I know first hand how medical bills can harm a family. I grew up in a home where money was always tight because of medical problems one of us had. We were often very close to losing our home and everything else.
Did you get it that time?
The solution is to get the medical industry out of the pockets of Congress.
Is that going to happen?
No way because greed writes the rules.
If it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy to believe the lies about how the government is going to save us all go ahead and live in your delusions. Just don't expect me to buy into your silly fantasy.

I agree entirely. But I don't see how a totally corrupt government (both parties) is ever going to "get profiteering under control".
I think the best solution is to cut government down to the minimum with NO big entitlement programs at all, NO standing army in peacetime, NO ability of the President to in any way wage war without a Congressional declaration of war, NO presidential immunity against prosecution for crimes, NO secret contracts, treaties, NO Presidential Directives, etc etc etc (the list is very long).
The money from rising healthcare costs has not gone to the doctors or hospitals. It has gone to the Pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, and now (under Obama) to the massive healthcare bureaucracy.
Judging from what I've seen in France under a very similar medical system watch for these changes under Obamacare.
- Overall decline of conditions for hospitals and for GPs. - Greatly increased delays for appointments with specialists. - Skyrocketing costs for any sort of complex treatment such as surgery. - doctors pressured by government to limit costs by inappropriate diagnostics and treatment. - The need for "mutual" insurance to pay for everything the government either doesn't pay for at all or doesn't pay enough for.
note: in just a few years time the mutual insurance will become just as expensive as the full coverage insurance it has replaced. So that all of the cost increases in care will still be paid over and above what people pay now in addition to the increased amount taken directly out of workers paychecks.
And for all the cost increases, instead of improving, the quality of care will deteriorate.
All accompanied by a general soviet-esque bureaucratic coldness toward the public from the (now state controlled) health industry.

Jeff Turne's Why Don't We Just Dance
Baby why don't we turn that TV off Three hundred and fifteen channel of bad news on Well it might be me, but the way I see it the whole wide world has gone crazy So baby why don't we just dance
Guess the itty bitty living room ain't going to look like much When the lights go down and we move the couch it will be more than enough For my two left feet and our two hearts beatin' nobody's gonna to see us go crazy
So baby why don't we just dance down the hall maybe straight up the stairs boucin' off walls floatin' on air baby why don't we just dance
Baby why don't you go put your best dress on Those high heels you love to lose as soon as the tunes come on On second thought just the way you are is already drivin me crazy so baby why don't we just dance down the hall maybe straight up the stairs bouncin off the wall floatin on air Baby why don't we just dance
Ah........cut a rug
Well it might be me, but the way I see it the whole world has gone crazy so baby why don't we just dance Oh baby, why don't we just dance

Exactly, the thieves in Washington do not want to see the gravy train derailed.
We're agreed on some other points.
Sadly though most of the solutions are as practical as the mice belling the cat.
Also as long as there are a large group that believe the lies they hear in the media they will be fighting to get what the manipulators tell them they want.
I swear that many of them would fight for their right to getting kicked in the butt with tap shoes if they were told that the stinky repubes were trying to take that right away from them.

I have no use for politics other than as a good way to study delusional behavior and mass manipulation.
To me the two parties are just two very similar artificially created cults, both led by charlatans and both controlled by the same super-rich elite.
It doesn't matter which cult is in power. It won't change anything substantial. Just the trappings and rituals.
In fact those who control decide which cult they want to put into power at a given time because they have to spin the presentation of their program around that cult's dogma and maintain the illusion that there are really 2 opposing parties who represent the entire range of political thought.
In a sense that's true, but only because any political thought outside the very small box defined by the 2 cults is deprived of any publicity whatsoever.

Yeah but the current script says the Dems are the guys in the white hats and the Reps the black hats.
Damn it I'm sick of it being like a gangster movie. I want politics to be like a musical comedy for a few years.
