Slaughtering animals usually causes them a certain degree of pain. To my knowledge, ritual methods of Egypt don't add cruelty to the fact that the animal bleeds to death.
The rights of the people that the police did not step on their gardens are more important than the right to have the police protect them from dangerous murderers? I think people want to have both rights, and the first is unimportant compared with the second.
