Haute Cuisine

- I'm off to see this today as it has just been released in OZ

And speaking of Good Food this was in The Age today;

Australia at 21st place with Attica in the worlds 50 best restaurants.

"Attica, headed by chef Ben Shewry, was the ‘Highest New Entry’ at the World’s 50 Best Restaurant awards in London overnight, after it assumed a history-making ranking for a Victorian restaurant of 21. The only other Australian restaurant to be recognised in the annual awards organised by Britain’s Restaurant Magazine was Sydney’s Quay restaurant, which slid from 29th position last year to 48th in 2013."

My friend Del is a true gentleman. I dont know what his research is on french cuisine, but I do like that suit he wears in his profile picture.

My favorite suit was eaten by Moths last summer. lol blues
'Suit is not a meal'

You'd have to know Seinfeld gag to get this;
Thank you Aus, for the blogs exchanges. You're profile has my part of the world blocked from emailing you, and so I thank you here in this comment, for making this evening entertaining, interesting and a joy.
Have a great night or day! hug
Hi AustralianGirlAU, handshake

I don't think the list means much. It ignores many small unknown restaurants or chef that are equally good.
It hinges on imagination, service, quality, comfort, taste and general appearance of the place.
Many small places with talented employees, robust cuisine and lack of visibility could compete on certain criteria.
Some decide that visibility put too much strain on quality and refuse to turn into a financial investment rather than exercising talents.
We also have to realize that a great chef is as good as his team of helpers.
Who want to mortgage their house for a meal? laugh
Also, I don't see too many Asian restaurants on the list. In my opinion, I rather go somewhere unpretentious with good ethnic food, dressed as you wish, instead of being part of a show with haughty wait staff. cheers
Ah, my favourite pastime. Eating – and my favourite night out. I seldom get around to the dancing part, but the dining I never skip.

I don't care if it is Indian (my favourite), Mexican, French, Chinese or German. I cannot understand why I'm not fat.
dancing dancing

Great new pic!thumbs up
Hi Del

Yes living in Sydney it was all about name dropping which restaurant you went to. I didn't bother with that sort of thing. So many great up and coming places to discover
Hi Cat

Thanks for the comp. Its a work shot. Yes I adore good food. Mainly our modern australian. Thats hard to explain but as we are a nation obsessed with food and can draw from eveery culture we eat very very well here. I have to watch my 'exec paunch' as we dine out a lot at great restaurants for work ;-)
