Traditions

Thanks Ocee for keeping this blog going. There are so many uncovered traditions that are still out there, they are amazing. SM wave As for hats, I remember as a little girl wearing my flowered hat for Easter. Just recently we had a Hispanic Heritage Festival and I found a wide strawed hat that I bought for only a buck in a sales retreat, so I wanted to wear it for this occasion. When I wore it, everyone said it looks good. I decided to put some flowers on top and after decorating it, I tried it on. Unfortunately, the front turned up and no matter how I tried, it flipped up like a pirate hat. rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing So I decided to leave for our Pirate Gasparilla's Festival here in Tampa. Your swelling is b/c of sitting for long periods of time. If you walk or lift your legs you could feel better in between. Just a note.

RE: Put God First

Hooha:
There will be always those that reject God, he does not impose himself, yet he walks side by side with everyone's footsteps.
Pray that the person would have a change of heart and choose to accept the gospel, especially before their last breath on earth is taken. Pray that someone else will come along quickly and water the gospel seed that you have planted. SM teddybear

RE: Netherlands to broaden euthanasia rules to cover children of all ages

Thinking of ending life is like taking someone off life support. A very hard decision when we think of children. Still, if these lives can bring life back to another life with a healthy medical determination; then it brings some hope but death should take its natural course. I understand unsustainable pain is inhumane for anybody.
Death is a natural occurrence. Sometimes God allows a person to suffer for a long time before death occurs; other times, a person’s suffering is cut short. No one enjoys suffering, but that does not make it right to determine that a person should die. Often, God’s purposes are made known through suffering. “When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other.
This is a very controversial topic to discuss, so it's up to those to make their own decisions to prefer life or death.
Life is God's gift not to be forsaken.

RE: Not worth a share

Well your share was worth reading CW. There are so many cases as yours. Believers and not in families. I just pray for them. They were created with free will and until they humble themselves in front of God change won't happen. I enjoyed the song you posted. SMwave

RE: Have you ever dated…

Didi, I dated someone here in 2009. I fell in love, and even relocated from South Miami to Ohio. The relationship did not work. So I moved to Tampa where my kids are and the rest is history. My ex-partner passed away last year, but I maintain some connection with his family.
Now not interested in dating, just enjoying being single.
The older you get the wiser you get at dating.
The only thing that I can say is there has to be chemistry, communication, respect, trust, and common interests that combined can engage the relationship to endure love to the fullest.
Best of luck to you....

RE: What Makes Jesus Unique? No one else made the claims that He did, He is alive...............

Hi Jenny this is very good, why don't you post it on the poetry corner. So much truth in these words. SM

RE: What Makes Jesus Unique? No one else made the claims that He did, He is alive...............

Jenny, you are clear with your recent comments about dating a non-believer. There are times we do not want to give up on a guy, believing he can convert to our own faith. My pastor was converted by dating his actual wife and has been married for more than 30 years.
Everything has a time setting and it is your decision to make the right choice and seek guidance with the Lord about it. SM teddybear

RE: What Makes Jesus Unique? No one else made the claims that He did, He is alive...............

Jenny, thanks for answering. I will come back once in a while. Keep sharing the love of God if that is your calling.
About poetry, you just have to have the inspiration. Try writing something that inspires you. There is what we call free verse which does not require rhyming. There are many forms, sonnets, Haiku, etc. There are many websites like that are free. Just as you write prose here for your blog. Give it a try you will be amazed. Blessings. SM teddybear

RE: What Makes Jesus Unique? No one else made the claims that He did, He is alive...............

Hi Jenny. Went through your blog to the best of my ability. I do believe in Jesus all the way. I am mostly at the poetry corner and through the years here since 2009 have written many poems regarding my faith; I have taken down some of them as other topics too. As you know there are atheists, agnostics, and non-believers. When I write I try not to impose my beliefs and I am always inspired by the bible.
By writing, I put in my small mustard seed. Many may read or not. Others reflect or not.
I am not a professional but can say I love to share. I have learned a lot about poetry here with my poet friends and challenges to each other.
Your love for the Lord is a blessing for you and others. Thanks for sharing your knowledge here that comes from your heart. SM

RE: What Makes Jesus Unique? No one else made the claims that He did, He is alive...............

I started reading this blog and it is very intense. Thankful for all those Christians that comment on their testimonies and what Jesus has done in their lives. Will take me a while to catch up. Jesus is unique and is an unending topic for so many.....SM

RE: The Danish Dream!

You are so right as pursuing your dreams, goals and whatever thoughts make you feel that happiness will be accomplished.
The truth about life is not having material things, which are necessary to survive. Being happy with what you can have at the moment. Past generations had less than what we have now but their lives were centered and focused at their needs and not comparing what other countries have.
As history progresses, things change. I suppose your country is beautiful to live in and does not have to envy any other.
My country is full of immigrants, pursuing the American dream. Many make it, others don't. Wealth can't be compared to be living in a country when all participate in the well being of each other. It's your choice. Like many places in the world, the USA is the starting point for many. We are not perfect. Our founding Fathers did a lot to pursue happiness and many of us have achieved it here thanks to their sacrifice.
Good luck with your Danish dream my friend!
