lgs: I think I will be in the same situation as you in a month's time. My company is going to close operation in Vietnam. This happened to me a year a go when my old company also left Vietnam due to economic difficulties. I have been in such a fluctuating state for 1.5 years and seeking stability makes me really tired.
My mind can't think of anything else besides work. I think of it before I sleep and after I wake up every morning. Though I told myself to stay calm, honestly I hate what I am experiencing now..
Places to see: Group 1: 1. The Old Quarter 2. Big church (Nhà Th? L?n) 3. Hoan Kiem Lake (Sword Lake) 4. Ngoc Son Temple 5. Trang Tien Plaza 6. Nhà Hát L?n (Opera House) These are in one area and considered as the heart center of Hanoi. You can walk or take a xích lô (cyclo)or an electric bus to visit these places. Life in general, especially in late afternoons or at nights in the Old Quarter is very bustle and crowded.
Group 2: 7. Ba Dinh Square - Uncle Ho Mausoleum (visited the dead body of Uncle Ho, the national hero and the place where he lived and worked) 8. One Pillar Pagoda 9. Temple of Literature (the first University)
Group 3: 10. West Lake 11. Tran Quoc Pagoda 12. Quan Thanh Temple
Others: 13.the Vietnam Ethnology museum (STRONGLY RECOMMEND - a place to display/demonstrate life of 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam) 14. Bat Trang pottery village (in the urban area) 15. Duong Lam old ancient village (in Ha Tay, a new extended Hanoi) 16. Thanh Chuong Viet Palace (strongly recommend - a space for Vietnamese culture and Vietnam's ancient houses displayed in details.
You should visit in early summer (April-May) or autumn (late August-October). The weather is very cool.
To me, friends are friends. They appear and stay beside me in different periods of life. Some stay long, some just for a short time...but all make my life meaningful, help me realize or learn something...though it is good or bad.
