titan You are right in regards to that it is best to stay away from these manipulators...no successful treatment for them...as far as rearing (nurture) I think the documentary already questions that it may not be as simple as how they were raised...

calli It is interesting because there are professions that attract psychopaths...CEO's is listed as the number one job...some companies even recruit people who carry the traits of psychopaths...even financially collapsing companies or people for their own personal gain...they are not treatable...some suggest that treating the psychopath can make them more skilled at deception...

Western medicine can prolong life with its treatments regarding cancer or palliative regarding extending life with the hope of reducing pain...surgery is also quite effective...my mother had colon cancer and due to the fact the cancer was encapsulated, she needed surgery but no other treatment...the cancer did not metastasize to other regions of her body...no need for chemotherapy as a result of her biopsy...the side effects of such treatments should be discussed with the patient in order to find an appropriate treatment plan...some may opt out due to the complications/side effects of such treatments...
However many incorporate Eastern medicine with Western and seems to work well for them...problem with naturopathic medicine is that research is needed to validate these types of treatments and so far big pharmaceutical companies have the big bucks to do so...
You have to be careful with naturopathic remedies while taking Western medicines...just because it is a plant based medicine or a natural product...it can still be dangerous combining the two medicines...
A holistic approach is now been seen as an effective way of dealing with people...Western medicine has come along way...my schooling provided me with such an approach...physical, mental and spiritual approach to medicine and caring...
Better to understand your health condition and find ways to improve health via exercise and diet...for example...such conditions as diabetes can be better managed through this rather than pills and insulin...
The problem with healthcare is how expensive such treatments are...health insurance and pharmacological medicine is very expensive...that is the problem we face...
