It is interesting because there are professions that attract psychopaths...CEO's is listed as the number one job...some companies even recruit people who carry the traits of psychopaths...even financially collapsing companies or people for their own personal gain...they are not treatable...some suggest that treating the psychopath can make them more skilled at deception...
I remember when I first heard about that show Dexter and how ridiculous it sounded.
I also heard that politicians can also fit into that category.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
People get duped all the time...but nice to be educated in psychology to figure out the people who con...and recognizing the behaviors...
And, yes, I did see the brain part of the programme.
There was talk about the identified psychopathic traits, with not much statement as to what they were.
I don't feel any the wiser after watching this.
but come on we all got to be a little careful
don't we it could be a woman doing the same thing to a man
any way the bottem line is don't send any one any thing till your sure of who you are dealing with see then again its comes back to us and how we deal with it
don't you think so
That must help but even when two or more people in the same family are brought up by the same parents with the same ethics and behaviour corrections a personality problem can develop in just one of the children for instance.
I agree 100 percent with what Sands said here about this video.
*This video should be an instruction video with every human being on earth starting at the age of 10*
Yep. So I guess the genetic mix required was present in one and not the other.
Our capabilities of being good and bad is both within us, but we have to cultivate that which we want to dominate in us. Too bad that there are those that are really bad yet oblivious to their character.
Be careful is an understatement. We must truly be careful.
Sands, I'm glad you're getting out of that predicament. Now you're ten times more careful, right?
Sorry for the late response...but I agree some were putting their heads in the sand regarding Madoff's Ponzi scheme...and Cheney could be another psychopath...
That is a good message...forget the wonderful words of a con woman or man...don't trust them until you get to know them...they prey on people and find their insecurities...
You are right in regards to that it is best to stay away from these manipulators...no successful treatment for them...as far as rearing (nurture) I think the documentary already questions that it may not be as simple as how they were raised...
Thanks for your opinions...
They are master manipulators...they study human empathy...and only act like they have it...very smart people...Pamela Smart is another example but she did get punished...but sadly she destroyed many young lives as well...
That is one man I would not like to meet...can you tell us a bit more about your experience?...fascinating stuff...
Thanks for your comments...for those that never been in a relationship with a person who has psychopathy...good to know there is a support group out there...hard to imagine the stories some would have to tell...
Thanks for the tips and understanding words. When you know someone REALLY understands, it makes a difference!
Your comments regarding identity are spot on. I felt so disempowered by the constant deceit, and ignorance of my value or worth. I realised every "family" decision ever made had been manipulated. I was "running on empty" at the end. I'm sure it was my love for my children that carried me through.
I learned an awful lot about people during that time, and subsequently (responses to this tale can be very interesting indeed, showing just how deep some biases reside, and how superficially some people observe life).
Cheers! Here's to all the good folk!
Thanks for your comments...glad you managed to overcome your bad experience...many are not so lucky...
Here is to the good people out there...
