I think Obama forgot himself there. As a lawyer he should know better than to make reference to God considering that we have a church/state separation. If we do not uphold that principle, we're doomed considering that we have every conceivable faith and non-religious people in this country.
It's certainly possible. There's only one thing that I'm certain of and that is that we've been lied to from a to z before, during and after 9/11. I'm also reasonably certain that we will never know the truth. Amidst information and a lot more misinformation, all one can do is evaluate the actions of the various players as they unfold because they tell the story in and by itself. Global chess.
Aloha Keys. Yes, I am not religious, but I have great respect for Luther and his work. He was a man of integrity. If he is portrayed in a movie as anything else, I'll say something about it. As to what "true religion" is is something for believers to discuss. I don't engage in those discussions. Mahalo.
Jim, Indeed. I'm not at all surprised that the RCC declared Luther a heretic and everything under the sun. He was what we'd call today a "Whistleblower". I read a lot about him, including his Table Talks, the bulls, etc. in the original. He was a man of God and his desire to meet God with a pure soul was genuine. He was studying law and then decided to become a monk. The RCC at the time was like a well networked criminal organization.
I only watch Euro-and World cup soccer. The rest doesn't interest me. The sports I like to do in real life, I can't stand watching on TV.. well, they aren't usually on
Terrorism, shmerrorism... this is all going in the wrong direction and has been since at least 2000. This is not new. It's just that you become conscious of it now. I have no problem with freedom of speech even if I don't agree with it.
Restrictions will solve nothing, except keep the people dumb. The fewer voices are heard, the less informed the people are and the more lies governments can tell us.
How many people would sign up for war if they knew the truth behind the motivations.
Cat, I've come across a few women in my time who were in bad relationships. Across the board, these women saw themselves trapped and objectively speaking, they were trapped. They had several children, no education, no relevant work experience and nothing on record that would have allowed them to leave and keep/support the kids. So they stayed. One good thing these days is that the stigma is largely removed from women being by themselves or being single parents, at least in most of the western countries. Still, we do not have equality when it comes to pay, so not all barriers are removed to make it easier for people to get out of bad situations. I hope that women and men will make wiser partner choices before they produce children and before they marry, but that's like waiting for a second parting of the seas.
Thanks again for more indepth info. I've heard of this type of behavior before in other places (taking rather than helping). In my book, that is human nature at its worst. Bless your heart for having faith in humanity. I wish I could say the same.
Well, my son told me that he'd let his father and me choose his bride (surprise, surprise); that he trusts our judgement. He said his father would pick a girl who's kind and good-hearted and I'd pick the best looking one and we'd both choose one that's smart. I think that is the best compliment that a son can give his parents. Of course I'd never do it, but in hindsight, there is something to be said for parents' involvement. People confuse love all too often with infatuation and marriages don't occur in isolation of family. Of course if the family of one party is totally crazy or unrealistic then it's clearly a no-go.
Thank you for explaining. My goodness, that's absolutely horrible! These poor guys. This looks like there were more than 2 criminals who caused this carnage.
How will you cover your health insurance btwn 62 and 66? If you go out on the market to buy a plan, you will be in for a rude surprise in terms of how much it'll cost you (or you'll pay the fine which will go up this year).
You're posting the same problem all over the place and people all tell you the same thing. The woman doesn't care about you as much as you'd like her to. Cut the chord. If you keep contact, the drama will continue and you will be miserable and writing about the same stuff for months to come.
I only commented on Snook's blog about a guy who totally stepped out of line. That's all. What I said was that he isn't the brightest tool in the shed. Z called me on it and I replied to Z that he should go and read the comments that this guy sprinkled all over the blogs, most notably Rolf's blog. So that is the entire story of my involvement. Case closed.
RE: READY FOR WORLD WAR III? RS Vs UKR?
Rolf, just a matter of curiosity. You have a picture of a German military ID in your profile?Didier. There will be no WW3 coming out of the Ukraine even though the media in Europe are playing this up like crazy.
