Disgusting, To Say The Least!

I’m not a Christian and therefore not bound by their conventions. I don’t have to turn the other cheek. I criticize the Church from time to time and point my finger at Christians when I think is due but have never attacked their God, nor the God of any other religion.

What I saw yesterday surpassed all levels of decency; I thought we lived in a time of religious tolerance.

People who think that blasphemy is good fun, are sick.

This is not about religion; it is about respect towards others and I'm deeply disappointed with the few people who approved of such behavior. Why does respect fly out the window when we get to religion.confused

Hmm.. okay. I just saw your response to Hans. I thought there was something else happening that I missed in the news.
You mean the "Charlie" type impersonator perhaps?
Hi Nidi
What needs to be explained.confused

Just the other day we saw what can happen when people don't respect the Deities of other people.frustrated
Hi 7Billion
I'll tell you later. I just realized it happened in the middle of the night. I was downloading stuff (end of the month approaching) when I saw it.
Nidi
I'm sure you read the blog. Did I see your name amongst the commenters? I'm not sure. dunno

Regrettably I cannot repeat what I read as I'm not sure if it is allowed but if ever I saw blasphemy I saw it here.

Thanx for the support the other day.
Hi Snooky!wave
I don't read religeous blogs. So would not know.
Snook, you're welcome.
Hi catfoot

How's ct.
Z, I was just thinking the same thing about that whole god issue.
Nidi
Ok, I just saw your next comment and I basically just repeated what you said.doh
Z
Well, we will certainly have less wars but now we do have religion and we should respect the believes of others.
cheers wave
I only commented on Snook's blog about a guy who totally stepped out of line. That's all. What I said was that he isn't the brightest tool in the shed. Z called me on it and I replied to Z that he should go and read the comments that this guy sprinkled all over the blogs, most notably Rolf's blog. So that is the entire story of my involvement. Case closed.

On Sunday I was fried by the sun while having a braai, Yesterday it was heavy overcast and cool and today we have the wind. Capetown is like a baby. If it is not wet, it is full of winds!

I have stayed in moeliepunt and kommetjie.

I remember.
Cat, why should I respect something I consider wrong dunno my time would be better spent in trying to make believers see the light, but as I'm not a believer I do have tolerance so just let them get on with it, but what I don't do is call them sick for their beliefs, in my opinion having that strong an opinion on a religious joke makes that person a fanatic, we see the results of religious fanaticism daily on the news.
Thanks Snookie. Actually I'm a rather cantankerous old bag, but I hide it well wink
That, s for sure Cat!, and that is the point, do not try to choose easy way, not to give up when inconvenciences turn up, carry on and try to improve step by step. In the end of the day we will see who really is / is not tolerant. From my experiance those who shout loudly for tolerance are those who never let others to express themselves.
Good luck. wave

Brrr, both are on the cold water side of Capetown. Actually the water in the tidal pool at Kommetjie is not too bad but the sea water there is very cold.

I was brought up as a christian. I realised it is not for me. My whole family r still christians. I accept them for what they r and they try to accept me . They have grave diffuculty accepting that I am different to them.
Yes catfoot

The rocks in the sea on the one and kelp on the other.

Not good memories re the sea in ct.
I do recall that comment but not the detail, the difference is I'm not worried if you make a joke about England, I do it all the time, and I wouldn't call you sick for it.
Fleurdelis
So where do we draw the line?confused dunno

@Cat
The sea is also for submarines.. grin
Catfoot

Lol

I have never heard anybody by the sea say that. My family all r in george. I must say I can't remember ever cing them drink sea water. Lol.
Z
Hmm, maybe true, but you did suggest that I remove another one. But what are we quibbling about? If people are entitled to ridicule another person's God, them I'm sure that others are entitled to call it sick. It is all just opinion.
cheers wave
Hi Kal
I suppose so. They will look very silly in a swimming pool.laugh
