Incidentally I have a mouse in the house at the moment. I'm amazed at the tiny space he can fit into (* deftly avoids obvious joke ) I've tried a live trap where you can let them go, but it hasn't worked yet. Don't want to kill him (already named him Rizzo, but don't want the kitchen to be like a scene from Ratatouille either. Anyway hopefully trap will work. Humbling to be continually bested by a rodent.
Speaking from personal experience, single parents can be all the support a kid ever needs. Logistically, it's definitely a tougher job for one, but as long as the kid feels loved, everything else can be worked out.
Personally I find it more troubling that parents seem to be demonised nowadays for choosing to be a stay at home parent, as if it somehow dooms them to a life of of indentured servitude. There's even a suggestion that their life choice is somehow an affront to the feminism.
Even the language we use is terrible. (eg. the awful term: 'housewife' ).
Be nice to your folks this new year, if you're lucky enough to still have them.
