In my family from my mother side to hugging us was naturally, the same as kissing us, even when we already were adult, and I do the same now. Hugs and kisses are only for my family members and my close friends, for others is enough good handshake from my side.
For me has meaning what kind of handshake has man. It's something like a "business card" for me which gives me information about man. For my close friends I use hugging and kissing as greeting and parting.
Perhaps, you also can use tips about cooking and dating in the form of poetry.

Very often the parents of children with special needs become similar in their communicating skills with others as "turnip".
