My Progression

When I first joined CS it was because of the forum. Then I started getting interested in the blogs. Now I’ve started dabbling in the poetry section, which has come as a bit of a surprise to me because, in all my 63 years of being on this planet, I’ve never had the slightest interest in poetry. I put this wandering about down to my restless nature, but now I’m starting to get worried. When I become bored with the poetry, it seems the only place left to move onto is the recipe section.

poems yeah well if you can do as good as your dancing im sure uou will be held high
It didn't take Facebook long to figure out I like recipes so now my news feed is plum full of recipes.

I didn't realize we had a poetry section, I will have to check it out.
My poems are going down a storm, jon. One of them got two responses, which is like heavy traffic for the poetry section.
Well don't forget to check mine out, fay. And please don't hesitate to ask if you need any tips on writing your own poetry, I've been at it for over a week now and would be more than happy to give you the benefit of my experience. thumbs up
Jon and fay, I appreciate your comments in the poetry section, but I think you may be taking me a bit too seriously. hole
don't worry I don't take anything here serious but is not a bad way yo has to get people to have a look over there
Just wait till I start posting recipes, jon.
wow I was wondering myself why this sudden change...and what...or who inspired you Herbie? uh oh

When you get to the recipe section...don't forget the ratatouille.wink
so you will be dancing while cooking I hopes we look forward to that
The inspiration came from within, Daniela, I'll be glad to get it out of my system, to be honest. At least now I know what it feels like to be a misunderstood poet.
Well...it's always good to let it out somehow..slowly but surely.

I know what you mean by feeling like a "misunderstood poet" comfort
You'll be so pleased you did, Molly. thumbs up
I see potential for you.

Keats, Shelley, Harbal .

Yip, it has a ring
don't forget the ratatouille.

Oh Daniela I CAN MAKE THAT. I found so many different recipes for it so I made it so many different ways, I love making that dish. Once I figure out how to grow my veggies rather than slaughter them as they grow I bet it will taste even better fresh from the garden.
for the benefit of all maybe they can write the recipes as poems, an ode to food.
Once I get chickpea to rhyme with garlic, I'll be onto a winner
A poet and ya didn't even know it....I always its there...the poetry section that is.....laugh
I’ll go to the ‘Poetry Section’, just for you, Harbal batting
Good idea, MiMi, treat yourself to a bit of culture. handshake

( hug)
Are implying that MiMi is barbaric, uncultured?!?!? snooty very mad

grin
The consolation with ending up in the recipe section is that at least the end result can be used as a doorstop or weapon, poetry is just well poetry and valueless until you are dead.
Mr.Harbal, Its a normal progression, I actually posted poems last year and did check out the recipe section, I was showing my delicate and calm side, Im better now.
MiMi, my dearest MiMi. I would never imply such a thing. scold
You've given me an idea, map. What about recipes in verse? thumbs up
Recipes in reverse are creative, Perhaps post one thats missing ingredients or insert some wildly bizarre ingredients, for example:-

Healthy Scones

2 cups spelt flour
125g Butter
1 tsp salt
100g chickpeas in aspic
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup shredded sports socks

Naf I know, but you could do better than my attempt.
That's rubbish, map, it doesn't even rhyme. professor
Take an onion, finely dice,
Add garlic and risotto rice.
A few minutes fry in olive oil,
But not too long, or it will spoil.

Add stock and wine, about half a cup,
Stir well till rice doth take it up.
Keep adding stock, little and oft’
Keep stirring till thy rice be soft.

Add parmesan to give it flavour,
And whatever herbs you favour.
Add salt and pepper if you wish.
Then tip it all into a dish.
Harbalwave

I love it

Thank you, ysabeljhen.

I'll see if I can do anything with next week's shopping list.
Do you put any in the poetry section, Merc? I haven't seen any of yours there.
Mollybaby garbanzo & ajo....................... yeah cracked it smile
yer pretty handy with the words harb........wink
Who are garbanzo & ajo, tilla? confused
You never cease amazing me. grin

Perhaps, you also can use tips about cooking and dating in the form of poetry. giggle

This is every cook's opinion -
No savory dish without an onion,
But lest your kissing should be spoiled
Your onions must be fully boiled.
(not my verse)
Cerv, if I had to write it in Spanish, it might take a little longer laugh
My father was Latvian, cupcake, perhaps I get it from him. thumbs up
OK H. Same here. This platform rocks for much more than searches/introductions/etc. I even get a kick out of teasing from time to time, as some do with me. It is also a learning place, as we all have interesting backgrounds to share.
It can be a fun place,V, if you approach it with the right attitude. thumbs up
Ode to chickpea curry

If you like fast food, you won't want make this
As chickpeas have to be soaked for pure bliss
Chop that onion nice and small
Don't be lazy now, Harbal
Grate that ginger, not your finger
Then add enough curry & turmeric to make a yogi whimper
Unpeel some tomatoes as you would a lady's dress
I'm feeling the temperature rise now, I must confess
Before you add the all important coriander, and the rice done in steam
Allow to cook and simmer for as long as lovemaking lasts in your dream
If you serve that curry with naan bread
Alone you will never be again, in your double bed
