There's Snow On the Roof, But...

Ahem.

"Bubba" is the former President of the United States, Bill Clinton. His administration was tarnished by the discovery of an affair (or, um, "almost" affair) that Mr. Clinton had with an intern who worked in his office. He still is the subject (fairly or unfairly) of many bits of innuendo and off color humor because of the events that happened during his administration.

There's Snow On the Roof, But...

Yes, my point exactly.

I'm not a fan of Ariana Grande (sp?) simply because I have no idea who she IS! She's a generation or two younger than I am. It didn't seem to stop Bubba, though!wow

Even The Rich And Talented....Are Human

Oh yes, I've been familiar with Robert Cray for a long time. He had a song entitled "Smoking Gun" in the mid to late 1980s, as well as "Porch Light," and many others. John Mayer has made a point of championing the old school blues artists like Buddy Guy, as they made little money during their career, and they were Mr. Mayer's heroes.

RE: I Scream, You Scream...

The store where I work has a brand of premium ice creams that can be rather expensive, so I have to wait until they're on sale....like NOW! Currently I have Columbian Coffee in my freezer, as well as chocolate peanut butter. (The peanut butter in that ice cream must have extra sugar in it, and you have to wait for it to melt in your mouth before it's soft enough to eat. Truly decadent!)

Vanilla ice cream is AMAZING in the center of a cantaloupe, in August or September. (Just sayin'....)

RE: Life's Wake Up Calls

Right there with ya on the "Do as I say, not as I do" thingy!scold

RE: Song Remakes...

Speaking of classical covers, here's a nice Korean version of a Pachelbel work:

and a parody of the same piece:

RE: Life's Wake Up Calls

Despite my best efforts, my blood pressure seems to climb steadily, an I'm at the point now where my PCP wants to go to a stronger med. Oh well...

From my understanding, one of the biggest causes of high blood pressure is....salt! (It's in LOTS of processed foods, too.) If you eat a lot of salt, drink lots of Gatorade, or similar, this is a major cause of high blood pressure. Unfortunately, I've become accustomed to tasting my food, and it may take awhile to get used to meals without much taste!

RE: Maxine Waters for the Democrat nomination for President 2020

Nope. That would be me!

RE: Maxine Waters for the Democrat nomination for President 2020

Oops! Should've been

for the "1984" clip!

My bad!blushing

RE: Maxine Waters for the Democrat nomination for President 2020

@miclee:
Ah, the Two Minutes Hate. Before anybody had heard of 1984, or Big Brother. And there are SO MANY eligible candidates for the position these days!

I think I'll change my name to Winston Smith.grin

RE: This and That

You haven't said much at all about your new bike! I was curious to here how you're doing with it.

I just got my first ride in after about a month of abstaining; I've got a bad back that acts up every now and then, and on my last ride it acted up six miles or so into my ride. ( I don't go very far, between ten and 15 miles, but it's better than nothing...) It felt good to get back out, especially since my vacation is over on Monday.

RE: Rose Apple trees and cats.

My question is, what kind of postage to you put on a tree, and how would you package it?dunno

RE: Who is Here From Matchdoctor?

Thanks, you guys. You made my day!thanks

RE: The most amazing thing........

That happened to me TWICE today. Whiskey....tango....foxtrot...??confused

RE: Who is Here From Matchdoctor?

"Hall of Famer"?? MOI?!? Sheesh. I rarely blog(ged), seldom comment, and mostly sit back and watch the bedlam. Occasionally I'll throw a bone into the ring to watch the curs fight over it, then run back into the bushes (kinda like a Cambodian guerrilla! grin )

RE: Who is Here From Matchdoctor?

(Heh heh...Willie even remembers the spelling I used last...!)

RE: Who is Here From Matchdoctor?

Aw, thanks!blushing

Someday I'll tell you where the "Smokenstein" handle came from...scold

RE: Drummers who are also lead singers

I'll have to look into Levon Helm. I've been seriously deprived of quality music, having subsisted on pop radio for much of my musical exposure.

Point taken with Keith Moon and Peter Kriss. I kinda question Ringo as a lead singer, too, although he could carry a tune better than most drummers.

RE: Drummers who are also lead singers

I always preferred Mickey's voice over Davey's. In later years, after Davey passed, somehow it sounded like he was a major stumbling block in the Monkees ever reuniting...but the Prefab Four was never a priority in rock and roll history, apparently.

Phil Collins, yep. Keith Moon, well that's news to me... Don Hendly? Unquestionably. Karen Carpenter? Of course.

Interesting blog!

RE: The end of another MANGO SEASON...

What's that? A Trojan mango, you say?

(I better quit while I'm ahead...)

RE: The First of the Season

Yeah. Corn on the cob, still in the husks. Soak the ears in water, then throw 'em on the grill (with or without aluminum foil), and let 'em steam until done. An awesome side dish is cantaloupe halves with a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the center. Burgers, chicken, and/or franks of some kind are a nice addition. Been a LOOONG time!

RE: today

Yeah. That old "inter-office fraternization" thingy.

Whenever you get the "I'd LOVE to, but..." line, you need to shut it down IMMEDIATELY. Even though you still get the inviting smiles, the cutesie innuendo, or the little "I'm into YOU" waddle, you're just asking for trouble.

In a woman's case, on the receiving end, it kinda sounds like that guy's already begun to dig his own grave...

RE: The end of another MANGO SEASON...

I've never had fresh mangoes. The closest I've come was the flavored mango Lifesavers from the tropical fruit roll (Yeah, I know....Not even close!). I've always wondered what I was missing...dunno

RE: Husband Down

Maybe they both should allow each other to have their own illusions!

RE: Ninety Nine...

You're right about Barbara Feldon, but I don't think I ever saw her in BAD light! She sure could've done better than Agent 86 (Maxwell Smart), and I always wondered why she never went on to bigger and better things. A cute, seductive voice to go along with the pretty face...mmm....

Oh. Sorry--was I drifting off?!?smitten

RE: Who is Here From Matchdoctor?

Well, I NEVER..........!!jaw drop

RE: Who is Here From Matchdoctor?

Wellll...I thought it had something to do with switching to a new site, or something...Far be it from ME to hijack someone's blog!

I'm sure TG will understand...innocent

RE: Maybe you have a wait problem...

A while ago I was chatting with some customers about who remembers waiting...for the radio to "warm up". Wait--what?? Waiting for the RADIO to warm up?!? I got LOTS of blank stares...but a couple of knowing looks, TOO! Hell, I'm almost 60, and I barely remember that, but it's TRUE! You could kill 30 seconds, or MORE, waiting for the tubes in your radio to warm up.

Man, I feel old...

RE: Conserv'tive? Lib'rul? What Are YOU?

Nope, sure isn't a surprise, Shawn.

Waddup?!?
