A great film, well worth watching again. You'll probably also like watching "A Beautiful Mind", the true story about a mathematics professor who was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.
WOW! Even for danish standards, that was quick......even if it's through a staffing company, because in a previous blog you wrote that you were going for the interview on monday.....not that you were also starting to work on monday. I thought it's usually you go for the interview, then they take a few days to process your info etc, before they call and offer the job. However, congrats to you.
"I have been looking at applying for a warehouse job, close to where I live. It's through a temp agency, and I tried to apply for it, but it failed. So I wrote the agency. They replied with a phone number I should call, so I did.
They want to see me for an interview on Monday at 10 am. I hope I can start working the following day, since it's usually how a temp agency handles their workforce."
First you made a point of saying their money is "weird", now the "screenplay", I'd be careful what I write in the future, if I were you. Just a friendly tip, from a fellow traveller.
It's 32 degrees today in Malmö, and on it's way up which for me is foooking hot. Got out of the shower and was sweating again before I even finished drying myself. I hate when it's so hot. Just looked at an island in the caribbean, they're having about the same temperature, but with rain.
myssmyss - I did a test pack of the things I am bringing with me, and they all fit. I am bringing three pair of jeans, seven t shirts, seven pairs of boxers and seven pairs of socks. I am using what I refer to as the "rolling method", where I roll everything up, so I can get more in the bag.
Philipsen: I noticed you didn't pack any extra shoes or a "nice" shirt and pants, they are always good to have….just in case.
Philipsen: "I have bought myself a travel bag. It's called the Haglöfs 40"
As a regular traveller, I can tell you that a 40 liter bag isn't much for 1 week, so, bite into the "sour apple" and pay to have your luggage checked in, that way, you can take a carry on bag with you, without prooblems.
Philipsen: I can see you're not a regular traveller, and this may be your first trip outside of europe, but you're stressing out yourself so much….buying money, counting out how much things will cost etc. Goodness gracious, give yourself a break, if you continue like this, you'll end up in the hospital, or worse yet, you'll be so "hyped up" that you'll go the wrong way when you get to CPH Airport or even miss your flight. However, with all your planning, don't forget to buy your friends a present from Denmark to take with you, Maybe they're dansk and home sick for some Aquavit or other dansk delikatesser? Or ask them if they would like you to bring them something from Denmark, either way, take a present with you. Now slow down, and enjoy life until it's almost time to leave, or atleast until Xmas.
myssmyss: The ESTA isn't a visa. Speaking of visas, I don't need one if my trip is shorter than 90 days. Denmark is a part of the VWP (Visa Waiver Program) which allows me to visit the US without a visa. All I need is the ESTA and enough money to support myself for the duration of my stay
Philipsen: I know that, but I still consider it a visa, as without it, you still can't get in to the USA.
myssmyss: I have booked a Basic Economy ticket, which means that it's non-refundable, but I will absolutely make the trip, no matter what. I just need to make sure I am not sick or anything
Philipsen: If you bought your ticket with your bank or credit bank, there's usually an insurance included, but sometimes it pays to have an extra insurance, and even though it says "basic economy ticket" there is still a refund if you have an insurance. You should check it out.
Philipsen: Just so you know, having a visa, doesn't always mean that they have to allow you into the country. Some people have been put on the next flight back home because of whatever reasons. Don't mean to place any "shadows" on your plans, just know that even with a visa, such things can happen. Good luck in all you do.
I'm not sure if it's still teh custom, back in the 90's, I made a big mistake whilst out shopping: Here in europe, the sales taxes is already included in the price shown for the item. At the time when I was visiting the USA and Canada it was added when you were at the cashier, so if you're like me: you keep totaling the items you are buying so that you know just about how much you have to pay, then don't forget the taxes are (probably)added afterwards.
Do they still add the sales taxes on items when you reach the cashier, or is it now included in the overall price of the item?
myssmyss - it was never going to result in a relationship. She told me weeks ago, that she wasn't interested in a relationship, which I have accepted. Philipsen: Whether or not it becomes a relationship: you wrote you will write an honest letter to her, and what I wrote to you, is also part of being honest, and to be honest to you, I don't think she will be happy to hear that you have been writing about her and her visits on your blogs. Whatever happens, good luck to you…..and to her.
Since you're writing such a long honest letter to your friend "R", please don't forget to tell her that you're on a dating site and that you also blog about things that you experience or do with her, that's also part of being honest.
I too rarely loose things, I would buy stuff, and put them in a certain place, until I need or want to use them, then forget about them. Some months later, I would remember that I have them, and wonder where they have disappeared to, as I don't recall having used them. That is, until my daughter moved to the northern part of Sweden last december and decided, to leave some stuff at my place. Since the room was utidy with boxes all over, I asked her permission to pack them in some see through IKEA plastic boxes. Lo and behold, I found lots of stuff that I have been missing over the years (a few months ago, she even took my kitchen scale with her), all she did was laugh when I asked why she didn't ask before taking my stuff. She's staying with me now all summer, so I'm wonderiing what will go missing when she leaves. I keep threatening to call the police if she doesn't stop, but she knows I'll never od that
Ivorycoast: "Also I am old school where I am use to a note pad and pen and writing proper English words".
I'm also old school, I dislike it and find it kind of disrespectful. My ex is very fluent in english, but whenever he writes to me, he uses u, ru, gr8t, etc. Sometimes I think of writing danish to him the sameway, but that wouldn't be easy, so I answer his messages the same way. Guess that's the new way of writing english for some People.
Whining has been around long, before twerking, it's popular on every island in the Caribbean where you can hear soca or calypso music. You can see people whining all along the streets at Carnival time or at Crop Over as it's called in Barbados, or just about any place when they hear soca or calypso.
My ex husband and I (divorced for 17 years) have a very good relationship, he's become my best friend, but get involved with him again…..never in a million years.
