Generally? Keeping a positive mind-set. Achieving that will differ from person to person. Do something. Stay involved. Inaction breeds inertia and then people start "thinking" way too much on past events. Get un-bored and enjoy the moments in the present and thus sculpt a path to the future.
Yes. I would prefer (and have dated) a less physically attractive woman with a great personality over the opposite. In fact a charming lady I "saw" for a year was originally raised in Geneva, Switzerland, although a US citizen. She did not consider herself physically attractive (although I did), but her personality, charm and intelligence were great.
Be forewarned as many of these shopping lists start with the words "Looking for..." Not all, but further reading is advised. Right on to the lady above me. :)

The Me, Me, Me generation started some time ago. Remember that we live in a society that creates envy while parading its "desirable" images before us,and en masse, daily. Status and possessions has for a greater part with many replaced/impinged upon other more basic but enduring humanistic values. A tough and sometimes lonely street to walk down or view, but the warning signals have been there for years and should be heeded.
