Teddy, I assume your eastern europien friends are truck drivers with a least high school degrees who travels around the Europe knowing one local word of each country and its a swearing word.
Hi Teddy, not often I comment but I will say a little, at least a little about myself as I come from the Easten Europe. I went to school during the period of Communism times, I studied geography, it was a book, atlas, map..big map in the class. Leter, when I was about 16 years old, I travelled to England ( that time for lithuanians it was a hard thing, get visa etc.)I visited London, Nottingam, Derbyshire. With my high school 10th grade knowlage of english I tried to communicate in english with people there, I asked them : "have you ever heared of Lithuania ?, oh yes one proudly answeres, ofcourse I know ! I go with my bike everyday there ( and he did not mean it as a "joke"). I assumed the guy ment Leicester, he was suprised I know so much being so young. I also remmeber one guy telling me, you russian guys are seeking asylum here so that you could get all the benefits from this country, comming with no language, I even suggest you to bring your own TV's so you could watch your russian programms. With my poor english knowlage, I did not understand what was he talking about, I asked him, do you mean if I bring the TV with me over here, I will be able to watch the programs in my language? He answered, yes yes you silly, you will be able to watch your russian channels ! Thats the funny part Teddy. But speaking from my point of view, Communism educated people very stricktly and a very braod at least in Lithuania and no, we did not study in russian language or read , write russian, we always used our language, our literature but the knowlage was thick and braod. In communism times if someone did not attend the high school, they would get you from the cave and return you to studies, not like now when you can choose not to attend the school at all and noone will rise a question-why.
But perhaps not Communism should be blame but the system of education. I know many children who immigrated to States or other countries from the schools in here, straight away jumping to a higher grades there because they have nothing to do compare to a pressure here and there.
I say, any education, any knowlage you get in life is-good. The more , the better.
Its a pure disguisting :(, I myself is strickt to my daughter but I always show the best example.Just gross and pure disguisting. Maybe because I became a mom of being 30 yrs old and I do not understand things.
My girl, she is 4. I tell her, you have to look after your teeths daily She : I do, everyday I go and watch them at the mirror if they did not fell out yet.
Today on the way home from the school she : Oh my God...I got a sun attack today, I feel so low... I say : there were no sun today She:...ok I got clouds attack
Cutie , I read you.I had a smililar situasion too,we managed arrange a meeting and close to the day of meeting, he sudden deleted me out of contacts, skype..no explanation..nothing thought let it be, its a such turn off, like a 5 years old boy altgough he is in the 40's. Later this man appears and tells me , what special I am.. Its a big TURN OFF for me, whatever can be said, its bye bye forever.
Nothing uglier then a mature man acts like a little boy who not knowing what he wants.
I met lots of people holding academic degrees, I also met people who did not have academic degree, they were interesting conversationalists, sophhisticated and educated, well traveled. I also met a self centered with academic degree who would wave his degree like a flag to show how much he is educated but will show the other side of arrogance and proud and zero tolerence to other cultures and religions. I believe the mentality you are raise among and grow among is important too, the intelligence comes within, the understanding too.
