RE: we have come a long way baby, whats wrong with that?NOTHING

That's a rather hurtful thing to say. Do you really believe that, or are you just lashing out?

Stress is a killer, way worse for you than poor eating habits, smoking, drinking, and it's something that can be minimised at least somewhat.

Im Sorry I Don't Live Up To Your Expectations
by Sarah-Michelle Gregory

Have you ever felt you just couldn't live up to somebody's expectations and whatever you did was just never good enough for them? Well, your living to please yourself, not them!

I am sorry I am not good enough,
I'm sorry I'm not you;
But, the person who I am, is not up to you to choose.

I am sorry I am not smart enough
Nor, superior
and fit too,
I am sorry I am not good enough,
Im sorry I'm not you.

You seem to only see my flaws,
in everything that I do.
I can only wish and dream
for you to see my accomplishments too.

I am sorry I am not good enough,
I'm sorry I'm not you;
But, the person who I am, is not up to you to choose

I'm sorry that I'm "just like her",
I'm sorry I'm not better,
I apologize for my mistakes,
but this girl who I am, you have never met her.

But, most of all I'm sorry,
that you can't appreciate me for me
And I'm really sorry who I truly am,
is someone you cannot see.

I am sorry I am not good enough,
I'm sorry I'm not you;
But, the person who I am, is not up to you to choose.

RE: Tonight I am an Arab.

You may be right, but who gets to decide, and on what grounds?

I didn't agree with the Iraq invasion, and apparently neither did the Canadian government, which is the first time in ages I felt that they did anything right.roll eyes

RE: Tonight I am an Arab.

I never said that America was responsible for everything that's wrong, so don't put words into my mouth, thanks.

I have stated that the US, as well as other countries, should stop meddling in the politics of other's, like those in the middle east, and others as well.

RE: Tonight I am an Arab.

When a world leader goes on national television and states, "God told me to....", my hair stands on end, and I automatically see him as a religious fanatic.

The previous Republican adminitration had a plan, and they enacted it, nearly to the letter according to their PNAC agenda.

The lies the Rep's told in order to invade Iraq should have landed them all in prison. It wasn't bad intelligence, it was manipulation and distortion of facts to push an agenda.

I don't see a lot of difference between the two group's idealogy. It seems they both want to rule the world, and are willing to do whatever it takes.roll eyes

It's all there, you just have to read it.

RE: Tonight I am an Arab.

You really have no idea of how much control the US tries to, and does have over the Canadian economy and politics, do you?doh

As a Canadian, I do feel exploited by the US, and for good reasons.

I'm not accusing, I'm pointing out the truth, and you don't have to like it, but that doesn't change the facts.comfort

RE: Tonight I am an Arab.

There are HUGE differences between foreign aid, fair trade, and exploiting another country and it's citizens for profit, condoning and paticipating in murder, overthrowing democratically elected governments, assassinations, subjugating entire indigenous populations to poverty for sheer greed, etc.

Not every country on the planet does this, so please keep reading. It's all documented, and available for anyone to see, all you have to do is be willing.

RE: Tonight I am an Arab.

Your blind patriotism is duly noted.

RE: Tonight I am an Arab.

Since when is Egypt your's to give to anyone?confused

Relax Tom, have a bananabanana

Never mind the millions that have to starve so you can have that banana for a cheap price, while your countrymen make profits off the backs of others in South and Central America.

The US meddling in the politics of other countries has to end eventually. The lies have to stop, the propaganda has to stop, and it should begin with you Tom.

You've been pushing the right wing agenda on the site, and likely elsewhere, for far too long, although I suspect you believe your own BS 100%.

Don't cry too much if it doesn't end up being an "American Century". crying

RE: Tonight I am an Arab.

Who's fault is that in the first place?

Look up operation Ajax, and what the CIA did to further democracy in Iran.roll eyes

After what the Shah did for decades, with full support from the US, I can't really blame the Iranians for being anti west, or moreso, anti American.

doh

RE: Tonight I am an Arab.

My concerns are the number of lives it might take to see this "revolution" through, and if it will in fact make positive changes for the people in Egypt, and elsewhere.

Tunisia, Yemen, Algeria, and other countries are having their own difficulties at the moment, and I keep wondering if outside forces are going to step in to "show them the way to democracy", or leave them alone to figure it out for themselves.

We all remember what happened in Somalia, it wasn't pretty, and I don't see them being any further ahead or better off than they were before.

Sadly, I see there being simply too much money at stake for "other countries" to stay out of it. Some of "them" have a long and sordid history of meddling in middle east politics.
