In social net-working as in CS, it doesn't seem to matter what one puts in their profile, no one really reads it. They take a 1 second look at your pic., and decide whether you're in or out. This excludes about 90% of us by default. Thanks be to the forums, where if one pays attention, the real person becomes known, whether attractive to your taste or not.
When I read an interesting post, I go to their profile. Often it conflicts with what they are saying in their profiles.
Honesty is optional when walking into a cyber-room.
