re- reading your post I think you are faced with few problems. The lady in question had no problems introducing you to her children and you stayed the night on few occasions. So it doesn’t seem like she is in the habit of protecting that part of her life . The real question you are asking, should children have the right to influence her mother in what man is right for her? I definitely think if that is the case a quick decision, even tho hurtful needs to be made by both of you.

yes of course…. is love and hate the same emotion? the only difference is at where on the scale we receive it. a quick example. A terrorist dose not kill out of hate but out of love for what he believes in. People who believe in the same and are on the same side of the fence see it as a noble and love for the belief and people. the people who feel the consequences of that love see it as hate.
On the same scale faith and doubt are just emotions.

I believe that the train will arrive at 6:05 am because it is an incurring event. If the train comes at that time or is 3 min early or late is irrelevant.
I have faith the train is due to arrive at 6:05 am, you are placing immediate doubts if the train even exists.
