American warplanes strike convoy of Iranian-backed pro-Assad fighters who ignored Russian instructions and advanced on a US-backed rebel base in Syria
Jets fired warning shots to stop the convoy of Syrian and Iranian-backed fighters from advancing - but it was ignored. The coalition said 'apparent' Russian attempts to stop the group, which had come to within 17 miles of the base, also failed. Syria condemned the strike as a 'brazen attack' and said it would 'not be intimidated' after the surprise assault.

New computer virus causes havoc A powerful new computer virus was today causing havoc with e-mail systems across the world.
"It's spreading with tremendous speed and thousands of users in Britain have already been sent it. "The virus mass mails itself out through e-mail and attempts to destroy anti-virus software on computers, which could prove extremely problematic for those unfortunate enough to receive it." The infected e-mail has the word "Hi" as its subject and body text which reads "When I saw this screen saver, I immediately thought about you. I am in a harry (sic), I promise you will love it." Its attachment is labelled "gone.scr."

Had an issue with Macrium backup software than managed to sort it using the web support page. They brought out newer version i'd purchased and it had a bug in it, I finally ran a .fixcom something or rather, that i found on there page and downloaded even later version that seemed to resolve. So i had my head buried in backup software. I like the program because i found it was the only one i could actually recover with. Most backup programs like Paragon, Acronis backup programs rely on windows updates my compu doesn't have so fail me in the recovery department, Acronis failed my requirements long long time ago and when i purchased 64 bit lappy it was sadly bye bye Paragon.
Macrium has now added a boot recovery menu that actually looks like it will work. Acronis tried that trick and caused heaps of grief long time ago. .
Windows back ran and it took it 18 hours to do what Macrium does in four
