Iraq was not happy that Donald dropped in, now there is a strong likelihood of a vote in the Iraq Parliament demanding (again) that USA get out of Iraq...
Various US media outlets reported on Thursday that Trump planned to withdraw some 7,000 of 14,000 US troops from Afghanistan.
The news followed a two-day meeting in Abu Dhabi between US special peace envoy Zalmay Khalilzad and Taliban representatives at which the two sides discussed the withdrawal of international forces.
Syria army enters Kurdish-held Manbij: state media
Reported troop entry into Manbij comes after Kurdish YPG asked for government help in preventing a 'Turkish invasion'.
Wild Oats XI is leading a pack of four yachts into the home stretch of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race after pulling off a tactical masterstroke before sunrise.
With Comanche, Black Jack and InfoTrack close behind, Wild Oats XI is under full sail and travelling at just under 14 knots as skipper Mark Richards and crew bid to claim line honours for the New South Wales-based team.
However, Black Jack and Comanche, about 5 nautical miles behind the leader, are making good time.
The winner is currently predicted to pass the post about 7:45am (AEDT).
Key points:
There is a group of four yachts vying for line honours champion, all with a realistic chance After taking a more easterly track than the others, Wild Oats XI has pulled ahead coming around Tasman Island The yachts will face the run home up the River Derwent in little or no wind
And nobody has mentioned derivatives, I know some would say they all been forgiven, perhaps, certainly the Greek derivative based USA created loans weren't forgiven. Binding contracts on sold goodness knows how many times, that are floating around planet forgiven, forget them not the,e may soon emerge and bite thee, like in many local city councils borrowed in derivative loans...
Mexican Peso, US$1 = MXN$ 19.89 the latter represents a weight of gold or silver not trillions of debit that the US$ represents...so Mexicans probably happy if a wall is completed as it'd likely keep USA debit out
its a pity mate because the yacht you step aboard is doing in excess of 20 knots, the live feed offers you an opportunity or any land lubber across the glob no matter where you are, an opportunity to join the crew of racing a super maxi during daylight hours all the way from Sydney to Hobart, it is now heading down NSW coast so feel free to jump aboard
A fleet of 91 will take to the 628-nautical-mile journey – those from NSW, South Australia, Tasmania, Western Australia, Queensland and Victoria joining the international set representing China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Poland, Russia, the UK and the USA.
October 4, 1957, when the Soviet Union successfully launched Sputnik I Sputnik II was launched on Nov. 3, 1957, carrying the first living thing into space: a dog named Laika After Laika (who died), the Soviet Union sent two more dogs, Belka and Strelka, into space on Aug. 19, 1960. The animals were the first to actually orbit and return alive
The physical exploration of the Moon began when Luna 2, a space probe launched by the Soviet Union, made an impact on the surface of the Moon on September 14, 1959
The Soviets nonetheless remained in the lead for some time. Luna 9 was the first probe to soft land on the Moon and transmit pictures from the lunar surface on February 3, 1966.
my guess America will soon be trading in peso instead because USA has foolishly based the defence of western values on a threat of mutual assured destruction. However they now find they pushing Putin into bed with your evil mates in china who are capable waging a conventional war in putting a greater number of boots on the ground than America reckoned on. In addition the US is morally bankrupt, a waning super power without the world controlling power you referred to. By far Russia exceeds the USA nuclear stockpiles and though the USA probably can still count UK weapons the 11th hour of 11th day of 11th month chat in France changes all that. But still I think Mr Chang gunner get big shock sooner than later, as Conrad would likely put it carry on sunshine
I trying to understand the ongoing wars so i understand at least some of the interdependence that is continually driving the world towards major conflicts. Its why I think Trump is at least trying to block ww3 but is he? The current retirement of Mattis gives the appearance that Trump listened to Macron, e.g. France, EU Parliament and Germany said words to the effect, America should not count France, EU Parliament and Germany as allies if Donald took on China, Russia and loosely put one belt Road membership. My recent post seems to indicate might not be that straight forward...particularly as Russia, Kuwait and Iran be supplying China with gas and oil (I think they are)... and sword dancing Trump might harbor a hidden agenda with his mass murdering mate in Saudi Arabia
By the end of 2015 Prince bin Salman and his coalition in the strangely-named Operation Decisive Storm (remember Desert Storm) had inflicted atrocities on the civilian population of Yemen. Within six months of relentless Saudi-led bombing, the UN declared Yemen a “Level Three” emergency, the highest level. Bombings destroyed critical civilian infrastructure, health facilities and the Saudis blockaded urgently needed food, water and medical aid to an estimated 20 million Yemenis, in violation of international law. Some 2,500,000 Yemeni civilians have been displaced. Famine and cholera are rampant. In short, it is genocide.
Cheney Oil Wars
The roots of the ongoing Yemen war with the Saudi-led coalition of Gulf states can be traced back to the Bush-Cheney Administration in the aftermath of September 11, 2001 and declaration of the so-called War on Terror.
The 2003 invasion of Iraq was about oil. Several US officials admitted so at the time including Paul Wolfowitz.
”You’ve got to go where the oil is. I don’t think about it [political volatility] very much,” Cheney told a meeting of Texas oilmen in 1998 when he was still CEO of Halliburton, the world’s largest oil services company.
As Vice President under Bush Jr, Cheney by all indications architected the US military campaigns of Defense Secretary Don Rumsfeld to “take out seven countries in five years,” as General Wesley Clark famously reported it several years later. All those seven are strategic to control of the huge Middle East oil flows to China, to the EU and to the world economy.
In 2004 when the Cheney-Bush “War on Terror” went to Yemen to support then-president Saleh, Saudi domination of Yemen was unquestioned. US and British forces backed Saleh against an uprising by the Houthi minority that began after Saleh tried to arrest Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi, the Zaidi religious leader.
By 2015 that US proxy war changed and the Pentagon and Obama Administration quietly backed a full-scale catastrophic Saudi military assault on Yemen.
Likely troops and equipment that's now heading into Iraq from Syria be heading further afield
More American Troops to Afghanistan, To Keep the Chinese Out? Lithium and the Battle for Afghanistan’s Mineral Riches
Unknown to the broader public, Afghanistan has significant oil, natural gas and strategic raw material resources, not to mention opium, a multibillion dollar industry which feeds America’s illegal heroin market.
These mineral reserves include huge veins of iron, copper, cobalt, gold and lithium, which is a strategic raw material used in the production of high tech batteries for laptops, cell phones and electric cars.
The implication of Trump’s resolve is to plunder and steal Afghanistan’s mineral riches to finance the “reconstruction” of a country destroyed by the US and its allies after 16 years of war, i.e “War reparations” paid to the aggressor nation?
Afghanistan’s estimated $3 trillion worth of unexploited minerals, Chinese companies have acquired rights to extract vast quantities of copper and coal and snapped up the first oil exploration concessions granted to foreigners in decades. China is also eyeing extensive deposits of lithium, uses of which range from batteries to nuclear components.
The Chinese are also investing in hydropower, agriculture and construction. A direct road link to China across the remote 76-kilometer border between the two countries is in progress. (New Delhi Times, July 18, 2015)
In other words, a shift in geopolitical alignments has taken place which favors the integration of Afghanistan alongside Pakistan into the Eurasian trade, investment and energy axis.
Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran and China are cooperating in oil and gas pipeline projects. The SCO of which Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are full members is providing a geopolitical platform for the integration of Afghanistan into the Eurasian energy and transport corridors.
this i believe is political Mattis speak for exactly that
Writes Mattis: “We must do everything possible to advance an international order that is most conducive to our security, prosperity, and values, and we are strengthened in this effort by the solidarity of our alliances.”
I think Mattis be likened to spoiled little brat playing tin soldiers in a kids play pen. Mattis is saying to the Commander in Chief of the United States of America either you play my way or, i am not gunner play with you na na na na.
What is occurring has nothing to do with Putin, more likely Putin will respond in support of the United States as I'm sure Putin or any one with even half a brain could see full blown war erupting created by USA against Iranian interests in that region. Mattis conduct clearly display's the extent of the backstabbing being played out by highly inflated egos within the senior command structure of the USA. Usually if that sought of conduct occurred by any on active service personnel then that conduct would amount to treason.
There can only be one captain, attempts by anyone whether likely very dishonest ex-FBI personnel or ex military personnel to undermine the commander in chief trying to steer the US in a prudent, Trump enlightened manner should be put-under
With ISIS now facing total defeat in Iraq and Syria NOT LIKELY
Both America and the Saudi, been feeding ISL, remember McCain well they been feeding them long before he did. al-Qaida; The origins of al-Qaeda can be traced to the Soviet War in Afghanistan ... In addition to American aid, Hekmatyar was the recipient of Saudi aid as well.
The mujahideen groups were backed primarily by the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, making it a Cold War proxy war, 2,000,000 civilians were killed and millions of Afghans fled the country as refugees mostly to Pakistan and Iran
The Taliban were largely founded by Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence beginning in 1994; the I.S.I. used the Taliban to establish a regime in Afghanistan which would be favorable to Pakistan, as they were trying to gain strategic depth.
The olympus om-d e-m1 camera talks to the lens, the camera has extensive menus for customizing including functions like manual and auto focus. The lens i am using has built in stabilization, also it has a manual focusing clutch, which i don't use. Auto Focus is much faster and birds seldom sit around while you fiddle with camera settings. The Manual Clutch on my lens is turned off in the camera, it is set as inoperative in the camera menu. I only use Auto Focus, auto focus now with tracking, it also uses face detection that has eye detection that detects birds eyes to.
You can if you want easily look at the menu's in Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II camera using this link:
