Sometimes a cover song is better than the original, sometimes it's very different. Post a song followed by a cover that you enjoy more than the original version, or just for comparison.

The original version of Hurt by Nine Inch Nails, released in 1994.

A better-known cover by Johnny Cash with a great video released in 2002.

My favourite version by Mumford and Sons Live from Rock Werchter Festival 2019

RE: How many fraudulent votes...in the united states election?

Maybe you're right, maybe my post is right. Such is the nature of a 'epistemological crisis'. Time will tell.

RE: How many fraudulent votes...in the united states election?

Its getting ridiculous, people are getting worked up into a frenzy, the polarisation in the US is reaching very dangerous levels, most of it fuelled by the type of misinformation we see on here.
As Obama described it in this article...."We are entering into an epistemological crisis.”

"What former president Obama calls ‘conspiracy culture’ is no longer a kooky thing we can laugh at, like it was in the 1990s. It’s now, according to Obama, the “single biggest threat” to democracy. He said in an interview with the Atlantic this month: “Large swaths of the country genuinely believe that the Democratic Party is a front for a p*dophile ring…If we do not have the capacity to distinguish what’s true from what’s false, then by definition the marketplace of ideas doesn’t work. And by definition our democracy doesn’t work. We are entering into an epistemological crisis.”

Conspiracy culture has created a situation where a large part of the American population thinks the election was stolen, the pandemic is a fraud, vaccines are an evil plot, and climate change is a hoax. America’s enemies could not ask for a better situation."

Fake conspiracy theory claiming George Soros arrested for election interference spread by far-right
1 hour ago

Contrary to right-wing conspiracy theories, Billionaire philanthropist George Soros was not arrested on Monday.

A right-wing website falsely reported that Mr Soros - long a boogeyman in conservative and anti semitic conspiracy theories - was arrested in Philadelphia for election interference.

The website included a photoshopped indictment as well as a claim that a judge had ordered a "publication ban," preventing US-based media from reporting on the ruling.

That is fictional; judges cannot stop reporters from reporting on a case, they can only order that individuals involved with the case refrain from speaking to the media.

The photoshopped indictment includes charges for conspiracy, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, computer damages, aggravated identity theft and aiding and abetting.

The story claims that Mr Soros is being investigated by the FBI, which is also false.

The fake indictment was forged using a real indictment from 15 October that involved six Russian men accused of spreading malware for use in fraudulent activities.

In the meantime throughout the nation, domestic cats roam free to kill untold numbers of birds and other wildlife.

RE: How many fraudulent votes...in the united states election?

That's exactly right. I only posted a short extract, the first part from the beginning, the second part from towards the end. In between is very similar to what you've said.

RE: How many fraudulent votes...in the united states election?

I found an interesting article a couple of days ago....if you're American, look away now.

"Biden Won. But Has Trump Broken America?

America is Fracturing as a Society Because About Half of Americans Don’t Want to Live in a Democracy.

Biden won — so Trump seems to be attempting a coup. And meanwhile, this election has revealed just how bitterly, painfully divided America really is. So much so that “divided” — the word that pundits have come to use — is an understatement and mischaracterization. The truth is that America’s undergoing what might better be called “social fracture” — it is a society that is badly broken as a society, as a group of people with shared values, especially modern and civilized ones. Americans no longer seem to have those left in common.

When a society can’t agree on ends, it fractures. Democracy breaks down. The more extreme side turns authoritarian. That’s what happened in America. Trumpists — rural undereducated whites, but, and this is important to say, plenty of educated and rich ones too, don’t agree on the basic ends of democracy anymore. That everyone — everyone — should be equal in their pursuit of life, liberty, happiness. That maybe having healthcare and retirement and childcare and science and logic and education are necessary components of that pursuit. That maybe guns and religious law hinder that pursuit more than help it. This group of Americans will not agree with a modern, functioning democracy’s ends, never really have, and don’t appear capable of learning from anything, even mass death."

That's just a short extract, for the rest of the articlexpected, which raises some very good points....

RE: How many fraudulent votes...in the united states election?

Trump rallies show how little he cares for the wellbeing of his supporters.

RE: How many fraudulent votes...in the united states election?

I think there were millions.

How else could Trump have got so many votes.

RE: Biden is already letting us down

I had to pick my grandson up from school yesterday and take him home. Five year olds ask so many questions, I hardly had time to take a breath...laugh
The roads aren't that much quieter here, but I do most of my cycling off road thanks to an abundance of disused railway tracks and canal tow paths. I'll be using a combination of those today with only a couple of miles on road.

RE: Biden is already letting us down

Like many right now I'm just taking each day as it comes. Anyway, taking advantage of a break in the weather and going for a bike ride this afternoon.

RE: Cowboys and Indians

The Native Americans were often referred to as savages by those who terrorised them.

But who were the real savages?

"The 20 Native American Codes Of Ethics

1. Pray every day.
You can pray alone, in a group, and whenever you want. The great spirit only hears you if you speak.

2. Don't judge those who've lost their way.
You'll encounter people who have fallen off the path. Pray that they will find guidance back to a good life.

3. Find yourself.
No one else can make your path for you, though some may try. And remember, no one can walk your path for you.

4. Treat your guests with utmost respect.
Serve your guests the best and treat them with respect.

5. Do not take what is not yours.
It is not yours. It was not earned nor was it given.

6. Respect all things.
Be it animal, plant, fungus, person, or place; treat everything with respect.

7. Honor other people’s thoughts, wishes and words.
Don't mock or interrupt. Respect the expressions and experiences of others.

8. Don't speak poorly of others.
This puts negative energy into the universe. Eventually it returns to you.

9. Everyone makes mistakes.
All mistakes may be forgiven.

10. Bad thoughts cause illness.
So practice positive thoughts and mindfulness.

11. Nature isn't here for us exclusively.
We are a part of the web of life. Not in control of it.

12. . Children are the future.
Treat them with respect. Raise them to be good humans. Give them space to grow.

13. Don't try to break hearts.
All pain intentionally delivered will be delivered back to you.

14. Tell the truth.
The truth sets us free.

15. Be balanced.
Ensure your mental, spiritual, physical, and emotional self are all cared for and balanced.

16. Make conscious decisions about your life.
You're responsible for your own actions.

17. . Respect the personal space of others.
Remember, you're a guest in the personal space of others. Don't mess with their things.

18. Be true to yourself.
You can't nurture and help others if you aren't being true to yourself first.

19. Respect the beliefs of others.
Don't force your beliefs down the throats of others.

20. Share with others.
It feels good to be charitable."

RE: Diversity

I try to choose 'the middle way' as much as I can. From the middle you can observe either side more clearly, and hopefully learn from both of them. Being stuck or entrenched in your views or outlook is very constricting and restricts growth imo.
